Amazing!

Brisbane, Australia

We had a party of 8 stay for Christmas 2019. Looking for a white Christmas experience. Whilst it had snowed unfortunately we didn't see snow fall but there was enough for my boys to do snow angles throw snow balls at each other and roll down hills covered in snow. The hotel itself is amazing we opted to stay on the fairmont gold floors and it was a good decision. Service was amazing and we certainly used the lounge often. Even just warming up on the amazing hot chocolates. Yes this is very expensive hotel but honestly our Christmas experience was amazing. Time over I would do it all again but unfortunately this was a once in a lifetime trip. I have been lucky enough to be to Quebec twice and it will always be one of my most favourite cities.

Exceptional Experience!!

Orange County, CA

We arrived by train from Montreal at noon on a Friday early in January. We always check Tripadvisor before booking and decided to book the Gold Level and avoid the "hustle-bustle" we "may" have encountered with all the tourists visiting the hotel. We discussed this with Kathleen Punchol in advance and found her very helpful and accommodating. Upon our arrival in Quebec City, we were impressed by the train station and it's gorgeous design. We were told it was designed by the same architect who was responsible for the Chateau Frontenac - a little bit of Trivia to start our trip and put us in the "mood" for the Chateau! When we got to the Chateau, we took the elevator to the 14th Floor Gold Level check in and were treated like royalty. The staff was very gracious, and while our particular room was not yet ready, we were able to relax in their very warm environment, have a cup of latte and snacks or use the restroom. It consisted of several rooms facing the River or Old Town, comfortable and cozy couches where one could read, meet new friends or watch television. It had a beautiful fireplace and many tables of different sizes for breakfast in the morning (included), late afternoon hot and cold appetizers (which substituted for dinner if one was eating light) and sweets at 8PM (also all included). There is an honor bar as well. The concierge up there were knowledgeable and helpful and on the last day of our stay, there was an intense snow and ice storm and we were informed by the bellman we could not get a taxi for over an hour. My husband rushed back up to the Gold Level concierge who arranged for the hotel car to take us and one other couple back to the train station. Otherwise we would have missed our train! All of this was worth the additional cost of the Gold Level and we are so happy we made this decision. My husband joined me for Tea and doesn't usually indulge in that experience, but he LOVED it here. It consisted of 5 courses and each one was exceptional!! The chef does an outstanding job of presenting traditional items such as the cucumber sandwiches, but also unique items with unusual touches. The shrimp was tossed with a wonderful sauce that i wish we could have taken home with us. The pastries were beautiful and yummy and the finishing maple fudge bite was perfect and memorable!! We truly loved EVERYTHING about this property and yes, the bathrooms are small, but they are well organized and it was not at all an issue for us. The room and its view were incredible - we felt like we were in a fairytale. PLEASE consider this hotel if you are visiting Quebec. It's not an experience you will have the opportunity to do elsewhere. You should treat yourself if possible. This was our Xmas gift to each other and we have now started a new tradition!! I'd much rather do this than get another shirt or coat or ????
