Great hotel and great service

Fairmont, West Virginia

My stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Toronto Downtown was excellent. This hotel was conveniently located to attractions, restaurants, bars, and the subway. Once we parked, we did not need a vehicle to get anywhere. Everywhere I went in the hotel was clean and well maintained. Every person I spoke to in the hotel was as friendly as could be. I am pretty sensitive to noise, and for being in a larger city, my room was remarkably quiet. I was up about ten floors, but these rooms must have good insulation and windows, because it was as silent as one could hope for. The hotel had a pool and I'm pretty sure that they also had an exercise room. There was also a small convenience store in the lobby. There was also another convenience store directly across the street, in case you forgot anything. The restaurant and bar in this hotel were very good, as well. The breakfast menu was a little pricey, but there was a large variety of food, everything was fresh and tasted really good, and as with the rest of the hotel, the people working there were amazingly friendly. I thought that the price was fair for what I received, and ate there every day I was at this hotel. I didn't spend a lot of time at the bar, but the drinks were well made, and the bartender was very cordial. I did have two very minor issues, during my stay. The dresser in the room was scraped up. I documented this as soon as I entered the room, and notified the front desk. I did not want to be accused of causing this damage, when it was like that when I arrived. The hotel gave me no absolutely hassle over this, and my guess is it was repaired as quickly as possible. Then, there was an odd smell in the mini-fridge, in my room. The staff did everything they could to make this right. First, they had someone try to clean the fridge, and when that didn't work, they replaced it. I was given two free gift bags, while snacks, water, etc. and a coupon for two free breakfast buffet guests. I didn't even ask for any type of compensation for the minor hassle, so this was totally unexpected. The staff at the DoubleTree went above and beyond anything I would have expected. All in all, my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Toronto Downtown could not have been better. I will definitely be staying there the next time I visit Toronto, and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great place for a meeting!

Toronto, Canada

Was there for a business meeting. We had everything we needed - attentive staff, great breakfast and lunch, a nice view from the top floor and everything else we needed for the meeting. Would definitely recommend!
