Busy hotel; Spectacular view

Charlotte, North Carolina

The reason to stay here is the view of the Horseshoe Falls from a falls view room. It is spectacular and worth doing at least once. Beside the great view, our room was spacious, modern and clean. The downside for us, though, is that this is a large, busy hotel. We stayed there on New Year’s Eve when occupancy was probably very high. It was just too busy for our liking with lengthy waits for valet parking, checking in and elevators. Self parking and valet parking were the same price - an astounding $40 per night. You also must pay a per-stay amenity fee for which we got no value at all. Between the parking and amenity charges, the cost per night was considerably higher than the room rate.
