Calgary is the historic home of Canada’s cowboys. The ‘wild west’ heritage of the city is still evident today, yet the city itself is unmistakeably modern, with an impressive skyline and a buzzing dining, shopping and social scene.

The best way to see Calgary in its all splendour is from the top of the Calgary Tower Observation Deck, which offers unspoilt, 360 degrees views of the cityscape. The city also has a rich musical heritage, which you can discover on a guided tour of the National Music Institution at Studio Bell.

Adrenaline junkies will love visiting the Olympic Park, where visitors can get their kicks from an array of exciting activities, including a summer bobsled, tube park and zip lines.

Despite its cosmopolitan vibe, Calgary is within touching distance of spectacular scenery and nature is never far away. The Bow river meanders through the city and is best enjoyed with a walk along the Bow River Pathway. Cross the futuristic looking Peace Bridge, painted striking red to honour the Canadian flag, into the urban oasis of Prince’s Island Park for a peaceful afternoon surrounded by nature.

With outstanding natural beauty and a relaxed atmosphere, the charming alpine town of Banff leaves a lasting impression on everyone who visits.

This delightful town occupies an idyllic location among sparkling emerald green lakes, snow covered mountains and dense forests, in the heart of Banff National Park.

The charming streets are home to a myriad of shops and restaurants, with a distinct chalet style appearance and cosy ambience that is hard to resist. While away an afternoon exploring the town on foot, stopping by at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel – an opulent and historic hotel with ballrooms, lounges and ornate decoration.

In the winter months, skiers flock to the mountains for the fresh white snow that’s perfect for winter sports. In the summer, the deep blue-green lakes sparkle beneath the sunshine and visitors take to the water in kayaks and canoes.

In any season, the Banff Gondola gives the most spectacular views of the town and mountains; carrying you above the treetops of the imposing Sulphur Mountain.

With spectacular mountain views, crystal clear glacial lakes, snow capped mountains and unspoilt wilderness, Jasper is one of Canada and Alberta’s most picturesque alpine towns.

The town itself is home to an array of shops, hotels and restaurants for visitors to enjoy, while the awe inspiring nature of Jasper National Park is just a short distance away.

As the gateway to the Canadian Rockies, Jasper is spoilt with unparalleled natural beauty. Drive along the scenic Icefields Parkway to see the magnificent Athabasca Glacier and waterfall. Or, for a more peaceful excursion, head for the tranquil turquoise waters of Maligne Lake and Spirit Island. A boat ride is the best way to see the lake and island in all its glory.

As night falls the sky becomes an inky black canvas, sprinkled with a million twinkling white stars. You’ll be spellbound as you gaze up at the world’s second largest dark sky preserve and see the magical milky way as you’ve never seen it before.
