Coastal Passage

Start this unforgettable adventure as you climb aboard Rocky Mountaineer train at Vancouver Station at 7am. Sit back, relax and get ready to soak up some incredible scenery. As the train takes you from Vancouver into the heart of British Columbia, take in the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate, where the Fraser River suddenly narrows. Watch as the scenery outside your window changes from Fraser Valley’s beautiful green fields to more rugged terrain. Ride through the Coast Mountains and Cascade Mountains, flanked by verdant forests and river canyons below, then travel into the desert-like British Columbia interior. As you near Kamloops, witness the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. As the train glides by the shores of Kamloops Lake, reflect on today’s journey and stunning scenery. When you reach Kamloops Station, bid your train farewell for the night as you spend the evening in a comfortable hotel in Kamloops.

Head back to Kamloops Station and get aboard Rocky Mountaineer once again at 6:25am. Today’s journey takes you east, out of British Columbia into Alberta. Watch from your window as you travel into the Canadian Rockies as you observe some of the stunning snowy peaks and impressive glaciers that abound here. The beautiful scenery doesn’t stop coming. You’ll pass ranchlands and lakes, and traverse over high mountain passes and through mountain tunnels. This one-of-a-kind journey comes to an end this evening as the train stops at beautiful Lake Louise.
