Incredible - Thank you to the entire Fairmont Team for making our Conference and our guests stay a memorable one

Vancouver, Canada

We recently held our conference at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler with approximately 105 attendees and I was so impressed with entire team at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. I worked hard with the hotel in advance of the conference and right from the first point of contact to the conclusion of our conference the Fairmont delivered a remarkable experience and made they made every effort possible to ensure our conference and our guests were well taken care of. I would also like to thank the Portobello's Restaurant located at the Fairmont where we hosted our Conference Ice Breaker event, the staff were incredible and the place was beyond perfect for our event. I would highly recommend the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, the Service, location, experience and the rooms were perfect! A big thank you once again to the entire team at the Fairmont for all your hard work and making our stay a pleasant one!

Service a 5, Location a 5, Facilities and Amenities Not Fairmont Quality

Chicago, Illinois

After staying a number of beautiful Fairmont properties, we were a little surprised how outdated this property was and simple amenities such as a decent hair dryer (not the cheap one we had in our room), an ice bucket, etc. were not in the room. Our first night here was not great. We listened to screaming kids at the pool well after 10 until at least an hour. While the staff were kind enough to apologize more than once and follow-up, honestly, after a long drive getting here, we were tired and should not have gotten this way in the first place. This is definitely a kid friendly hotel which is great for families and we support this, but the facilities such as the spa should not be overrun with children (not teens, but children). Rooms needs a serious update, but the hotel has character. When we went out for our hikes, I longed to being staying at the Four Seasons that seemed to have balconies. The staff here particularly in the Gold Lounge are great. Ian and Dale in particular were very nice and helpful in making recommendations and arranging for a bike tour for my husband. The Gold Lounge service is great. Again, while the facility is in bad need of an update from the early 90's, we can bypass this because of the service. Recommendations: 1) Have a plan to accommodate and serve ALL of your guests particularly during holiday weekends. It was nice when Monday afternoon came and we could enjoy the peace of nature. 2) Don't call your spa a spa. There is a certain level of expectations we would have a quiet environment to relax and enjoy our treatments. The spa waiting room should not be stocked with crayons and coloring books and overrun with kids. 3) Have a capital plan for remodeling your rooms and Gold lounge. Gold fixtures, dated carpet and furniture need are not charming. Continue to hire great staff.
