Obstruction in Parking Lot

Boston, Virginia

My friend and I went to the Driftwood (cafe in Wick Inn) to listen to the live music they had there last night. I tried to park my car in their parking lot and a large rock had been placed by a light pole that is beside the parking spot. The rock had a large pointy edge obstructing the parking spot that a driver cannot see. i tried to pull into the spot and the front end of my fender was scraped and a large chuck of paint fell off. I took pictures of my car and the rock and brought it to the attention of the manager. She said it wasn't the hotel's responsibility. I'm not sure how it cannot be. That rock was intentionally placed there by the hotel. It is clearly obstructing the parking spot and a hazard to cars. I'm sure if I was staying at the hotel and driving an expensive car I would have been treated with more respect. She did phone over to the Driftwood and told the waiter that our drink would be covered but I'm still stuck with at least a $500 - $600 dollar repair. I hate to have to involve my insurance company or a lawyer but I don't like the way this was dealt with at all....very unprofessional. I will put in the effort to follow up with this legally. I wish Trip Advisor had a function where I could upload the pictures so everyone that reads this could see what I'm talking about.

Magical

Canada

There's a reason why this place consistently has high occupancy. Actually - several reasons. High end in every regard, classic Relais property. View from Pointe restaurant one of the best in the country, great place to watch the tide come in or out. Two porpoises gave a long show while we enjoyed lunch - I gather whales did the same thing a couple months ago. Superb food, good wine list with some excellent value compared to say a high-end Vancouver restaurant.
