No real bathroom, dingy, dirty carpet

Boerne, Texas

And, aside from the review headline....the "rainforest" part of this is a joke. There is one small path that leads to a pretty spot of water (you look out from about a 6x6 foot deck)...aside from that they direct you to public access areas. The restaurant was loud and basically a bar with a couple of screaming kids (although the food wasn't bad). I stayed in BC for 10 days (multiple hotels), and this was my only true disappointment. A total rip off.

Beautiful setting, lovely atmosphere

Derby, United Kingdom

We spent three nights here at the start of our driving tour of western Canada. It as the perfect beginning to our holiday. Just outside Tofino but within easy driving distance of this laid-back town, Jamie's is equally relaxed but providing good quality accommodation. We had a spacious room, perfect for the three of us who were sharing. We had a room close to the track that led through the rainforest to the mudflats, which provided a lovely short stroll. From here we saw ospreys flying in the early evening. It's a really tranquil spot with beautiful views. A short walk across the road leads to Chesterman Beach, another good location to stroll to from the inn. We did this on our first evening and were rewarded with more ospreys and bald eagles. Sadly, our attempts to watch the sunset on the beach (which I'm sure would be wonderful) on the next two evenings were thwarted by the heavy sea mist which obscured the views on the ocean side for much of our time there. Fortunately, the Clayoquot Sound side (basically across the road as the land here is narrow) didn't have the same problem with lingering mist so the views were lovely there. We made good use of the restaurant for lunch and dinner, and found the service good and the food delicious. I can recommend the chicken and sausage penne and the locally brewed Tofino Blonde Ale.
