Nestles Peacefully Beside the Ocean

Amongst the 22 acres of lush forest, the Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort nestles peacefully beside the ocean ready to feed your hunger for total relaxation. The name translates as 'house by the sea' and the hand crafted log cabins are beautifully appointed to offer warmth and experience - perfect for families and couples alike. There are many activities on site from the tennis courts, volleyball and three kilometres of sandy beach with the warmest ocean waters in Canada. Don't miss the award winning Grotto Spa! One of only 16 in Canada to be awarded the prestigious prize, the spa has been designed to emulate a natural stone Grotto with two story waterfall.

Tired and worn but still high priced

My daughter and I stayed here one night in April primarily because I had heard good things about the Grotto Spa. The front staff at check in were uptight and cold. We were told we couldn't get a table at the restaurant because it was almost 9 when we checked in but we could order room service (pizza). We called for pizza and we're told it would be an hour, so we quickly ran to the restaurant where we were told they seated until 9:30. We ordered mozzarella bread at the restaurant which they burnt and then cut the burnt corners off the bread. Really? The rooms in the hotel are in desperate need of new everything. The cabinets are cheap and scuffed/chipped. Decor is outdated. Even though we spent a ridiculous amount on the spa we couldn't get a late check-out. My advice is to skip the hotel and restaurant entirely as they aren't worth the price. Stay somewhere else and go to the spa, which is awesome.

40th Anniversary

Having been here before, I was impressed all over again. What I like above all is the ambience. Everything 1st class but restrained and unpretentious. Although seemingly all the staff new it was our anniversary we were congratulated by some but no sign of gooey intrusiveness. The wine in the room was high calibre from a BC winery.
