An OK Resort

We booked a suite at this resort to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, it did not completely live up to our expectations. The view is spectacular even when it was fogged in. Our suite was very satisfactory with an amazing bathroom and good bed. The suite was somewhat dated and will soon need some updating. The door to the patio was very hard to operate but with perseverance we managed it. As mentioned in a number of other reviews the management of this resort is sadly lacking despite the assurances made by the marketing director to the contrary. We were checked in by a very friendly young man but it was very difficult to understand him as his English was extremely accented. He informed me that we could make reservations for dinner at the Fetch through the concierge. Unfortunately, during our 3 days there, that person never made an appearance. If you call to make a reservation as we did four times, no one answers and a recording tells you to leave your name, number and what time you would like the reservation. We did this but when we arrived at the restaurant we had no reservation. The maitre d' was not very friendly but she said we were lucky as she had just had a cancellation. Although the restaurant was signed to be fully booked, in the hour and a half we were there the tables were only about half filled. The service was good and the food was OK but the music was more suited to a bar than to a peaceful dining room overlooking such beauty. We opted to not receive the $5.00 credit for not having our room made up as this seems to be pretty "cheap" for a $500.00 a night suite. The room attendant simply pulled the bed covers up, did not fluff the pillows or replace the decorative pillows on the bed. No toilet paper was left and no other clean up was evident. We have never had such poor service in any hotel on our many trips over the years. This resort seems to be geared towards young families and we would have a hard time recommending it to our senior friends. There are many other resorts on the Island that provide much more superior service. It's time for senior management to stop making excuses and take a serious look at making this a truly 5 star resort, The view and location deserve it.

Some Good - Some Bad

West Kelowna, Canada

Spectacular location! The view of the ocean and the shore line was truly incredible. The facilities of the resort are nice. They seem to be a bit short staffed as it took forever to get our room ready for us to check into. Service for breakfast was slow to. The bed in our room was poor. Not what you would expect when paying $300 plus a night to stay.
