very nice hotel

Ottawa

We stayed for four nights in mid-June. We had an ocean view room and the view from the large, comfortable balcony and room was terrific. The room was modern, clean and large. Very nice bathroom with deep tub and rainforest shower. Convenient to have small kitchen area with fridge and cooktop. Restaurant was only so-so. Average dinner for top price, but good breakfast. We found the prices, food and atmosphere in the lounge to be more appealing and had two nice dinners dinner there.

Disappointing

When I spend $400 per night I have an expectation that the resort is going to be very nice and very attentive. This resort is a basic over the hill building with a nice entrance. The room I stayed in was not fun. There was holes in the shower area in the grout. The tile work was terrible and old. The paint was peeling off the bar that was there to assist people in the bathroom. There was no great service. It was mediocre. The food in the restaurant was nice but not excellent. I wanted a snack and the only place to get this was a vending machine. I went to the little coffee bar and had to ring for service. When you pay these prices, and mine was cheap compared to other rooms, you have an expectation of something special. This room could be had anywhere else for about $89.
