Overpriced faded grandeur.

Vancouver, Canada

Stayed for 2 nights for an eye watering $1000 per night. The setting of the lake is beautiful but the lodges are seriously outdated. No air conditioning - seriously - this is 2019 and you are charging $1000 Per night. The bathroom - still set in the early 1990s I’d say - tiny - over the bath shower, no separate shower cubicle which I think is poor. Take a look at yourself Fairmont JPL - compared to other Fairmont hotels in Canada - I’ve stayed in 3 in Vancouver - most recently the Pacific Rim - all were vastly superior. You are trading on days gone by and living in the past but charging way over the odds for what you have on offer. The turn down service was poor- I was getting ready to go out to dinner at 6.30 and was asked if I required a turn down service - when I asked if I could have one in half an hour (when I would be out of my room - which would have been at 7pm) I was told it would have to be now or not at all. That is not the service I expect from a hotel holding itself out as 5 star outfit. Such a shame - the room attendant we had (not the turn down service) was lovely as were the valet team. The staff at reception were just not as attentive as other Fairmont’s I’ve been to. All in all poor. I expected better and I’ve left disappointed.

Motel 6 on steroids

Seal Beach, CA

Faded glory which is typical of Fairmont Hotels. Unfortunately they have a monopoly on "upmarket" accommodations in Jasper. Food in Chop House restaurant lousy. Room retro to a cheap motel, with substandard linens and products. Staff was great but it hard to have the staff make up for very poor value in an expensive hotel.

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Being one of Canada's premier lodges, there is no shortage of things to do and explore during your stay at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Appealing to all age ranges, there is something to suit every traveller, from the Kids Club and Teen Activites to keep children entertained to indulging in a couple's massage in the spa or playing a few rounds on the award-winning golf course with jaw-dropping views of Jasper National Park.

The Fairmont Jasper Park Golf Course

There’s a reason that SCOREGolf voted this golf course as the number one in Canada: it is truly spectacular. Created way back in 1925 by master golf architect Stanley Thomspon, this is often hailed as his masterpiece and quite rightly so – it took 50 teams of horses and more than 200 men to clear the land in preparation for the golf course that would later grace its landscape.Experience 18 holes that carefully play with the landscape, offering surprise vistas and challenging sections that seemingly blend nature with the hand of man. Seventy years after the course’s introduction, a major renovation was undertaken, based upon original 1924 blueprints, which effectively brought the course back to its best.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the surrounding area including: Marmot Basin Ski Hill offering 84 ski trails and 1,650 acres of skiable terrain, The Boathouse offering rentals of boats and other watercraft for use on Lac Beauvert, White Water Rafting, River Cruises, Miette Hot Springs, Glacier Skywalk, Athabasca Falls, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Icefield Helicopter Tours, Lake Skating, Toboggan Park, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides and more.

Outdoor Pool

The hotel’s stylish outdoor pool is the perfect place to escape from the stresses of everyday life, providing a great outdoor swim surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Jasper National Park. Excellent for resting those weary muscles after a day hiking the mountain trails.

The lodge's exquisite spa has been furnished with plenty of awards during the years, including being voted as the fourth best spa in Canada by Conde Nast but don't just take our word for it! Enter and experience for yourself a range of indulgent and rejuvenating treatments inspired by nature.
