Siem Reap – Things to do

Siem Reap Attractions

Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary

In the dense marshes of Cambodia's great lake, Tonle Sap Lake, Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary is one of the most important breeding grounds for water birds in Southeast Asia. Tour the sanctuary in the dry season when flocks of birds descend on the sanctuary. Take a boat tour to see greater and lesser adjuncts, spot-billed pelicans, Asian open bills, and grey-headed fish eagles around the reserve.

Cambodian Cooking Classes

Foodies on holiday in Siam Reap will delight in the many opportunities for learning to cook authentic Cambodian dishes. Numerous restaurants teach you about the culture of Cambodia by letting you taste the unique textures and flavours of their food and showing you how different herbs and spices are used to create new and surprising flavours.

Wat Thmei

Like its counterpart in Phnom Penh, Wat Thmei commemorates the victims killed during the atrocious Khmer Rouge regime. A glass-walled stupa holds the bones and skulls of some of the massacre victims as a stark reminder of the people killed during one of Cambodia's darkest periods of history.
