Pacific Coast Highway 1

A beautiful coastal hugging drive

We love talking holidays and we're here to help. If you'd like our advice on how to create an amazing California holiday, just give our Destination Specialists a call.

Take a scenic drive along one of America's most famous roads, the Pacific Coast Highway or, you may also know it as, Highway 1. We recommend driving from north to south, so that the coast is on the right side for making those spontaneous photo stops - and trust us when we say you will be stopping a lot.

The Pacific Coast Highway 1, which is a section of State Route 1 is part of the major north-south State Route 1 and runs along most of the Pacific coastline for over 650 miles. It is split out into several portions; Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), Cabrillo Highway, Shoreline Highway and Coast Highway.

Best enjoyed in a convertible with glorious California sun on your face; this coast-hugging road will take you through bustling San Francisco, cool Santa Barbara and glamorous LA. You'll pass through quaint seaside towns and breathtaking landscapes on this celebrated route that will make you fall in love with the west coast.
