Hugging the rocky coastline, this scenic coastal loop road winds north from Carmel through the Del Monte Forest, past palatial mansions and golf courses along with views of the churning Pacific Ocean and stunning beaches. Drive, cycle or walk it; this privately managed roadway winds through giant Cypress trees between Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach. Take a picnic to one of the sandy beaches; perhaps Fanshell Beach or Spanish Bay, watch the harbor seals play and a must is to photograph the famed, 250 year old Lone Cypress. 17-Mile Drive is beautifully romantic at sunset, so grab a blanket and cuddle up with a loved one as you watch the sky turn orange and pink.

Indulge yourselves with a stay at the luxury; Inn at Spanish Bay or The Lodge at Pebble Beach for exemplary service and contemporary elegance. But if you don't have the time to stay overnight, then make sure you make time for lunch in one of the resorts fabulous dining options.
