The Victoria Falls

Combine your visit to the northern reaches of Botswana with a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders) in Zambia and Zimbabwe. Embark on a magical safari to Chobe National Park in Botswana to experience herds of roaming elephants and buffalo, and enjoy a serene boat cruise on the Chobe River for crocodiles and hippos and a huge variety of birdlife.

Then transfer to colourful Livingstone, situated northeast of Chobe National Park across the border to Zambia, to combine your safari with one of Africa’s most iconic experiences – the Victoria Falls. Here you can witness the Zambezi River plunging 108 metres into Batoka Gorge. Plus, Livingstone has original character and colonial charm and a wealth of activities to enjoy including cultural excursions white-water rafting, canoeing, horse-riding and river cruises on the legendary Zambezi River.

But centre stage to your adventure is the Victoria Falls, one of the greatest curtains of water to be found anywhere in the world, stretching over a width of 2 kilometres, whose basalt cliffs transform the Zambezi from placid river to raging torrents.

Stand on the famous Knife-Edge Bridge for spectacular views of the Eastern Cataract and the Boiling Pot as the waters rage into Batoka Gorge, or head to the Lookout Tree and Falls Bridge for astounding views across the Main falls.
