Head to the steps of City Hall for a walking tour led by the Town Crier, listen out for his ringing bell and you’ll know you’re heading in the right direction. During the summer months on a Wednesday evening, Front Street comes alive with Gombey dancers, these are the iconic symbol of traditional folk life blending African, Caribbean and British culture.

Notable architecture includes the Cabinet Building, Sessions House and the 19th century Fort Hamilton, with uplifting views of the city and sea. Meanwhile, Harbour-side Front Street is lined with Victorian houses in shades of yellow, green, peach and blue, bursting with character and colour. The historic town is an intoxicating cocktail of gardens, churches and even an aquarium and zoo; there truly is something for everyone.
