Beautiful oceanfront setting

Boston, Massachusetts

The hotel is located on a very large property with many rooms. Its a long walk down a hill and up some stairs to the room. The room itself was clean and large. Nice large clean bathroom with shower/tub and good AC. Not sure if the TV actually worked. The view was beautiful from our comfortable balcony and a short walk to the rocky beach. The main lobby of the hotel is big, comfortable and grand in an old-fashioned way. The bar also had a great view as did the pool. We tried the breakfast - very expensive and not very good food although the coffee was good and the service very friendly. We went into town for dining although we heard from other guests that lunch and dinner were good (though pricey). The resort is not far from Hamilton by cab so pretty convenient. It cost around $30 by cab from St Georges airport

Immaculate and friendly!

NEW YORK

I left there about 6 hours ago so all is fresh in my mind. Yes I only gave it 4 stars but I'm a tough marker and at the end of this I'll tell them how to get the fifth star. First remember Bermuda is not a cheap island. Previous reviews said the resturant was expensive. Well everything is expensive in Bermuda. A decent cheeseburger with fries is 26 bucks so the food here is the same price as anywhere else and very good. I married and very critical woman, especially with hotels. It was her who said on the second night that this place was immaculate and people were so friendly. She's right. From Phyllis from housekeeping to the best cabbie in the world who hung around the hotel, Barkley, no you won't find better people. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have a simple eloquence. Besides in your going to stay in your room then stay home. That is not what you go to Bermuda for. The beach was divine and the pool was great. All rooms face the water so you can't miss that view every morning and evening. Okay so you guys want the fifth star out of me? Here's what you do. The hotel is basically on three levels and it's a steep climb back up when you're done with the beach. I watched older people struggle. You guys spring for a 6 seater golf cart and let's say every half hour make a run to the bottom of the hill to bring people back up and that's a hit. All travelers need to nosh a bit and the market is not at walking distance nor does a cabbie want to take such a short fair. If this resort lets it be known that if the call and let them know they want to make a market run, let's say at 10, the resort will get and pay for the cbas to bring them to the market and back. Heck the market itself may even chip in because they 'll get more business. Do that and you get the fifth star! As for going back, we will!
