Simply Splendid Stay!

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Several days ago we returned from our 1st visit to Cambridge Beaches, and I can confidently say that it will not be our last. We had a marvelous time in a gorgeous location and were impressed with everything! Every member of the staff was so friendly and efficient. Our needs were anticipated even before we even recognized that we had them! Our beautiful room exceeded all expectations, and the special treat that awaited us because of my birthday celebration was most appreciated! The views from our balcony at dawn and in the golden hours of the early evening captivated us. The overall level of comfort was just perfect for a supremely relaxing vacation. We really enjoyed the delicious food and drink offered in both Tamarisk and Breezes. We enjoyed the abundant buffet breakfast (my husband was a huge fan of the omelets), but we did wish that the option for a Codfish Breakfast existed on Sunday morning. Perhaps it could become an option in the future?? We loved strolling all about the village of Somerset and around much of Sandys Parish. We quickly concluded that the people of Bermuda are the kindest and friendliest of any country we have visited in our many years of travel. We loved the history and style of Cambridge Beaches, and we were impressed with the level of maintenance and gardening, especially in light of recent damage from Hurricane Humberto. We wholeheartedly recommend Cambridge Beaches to those looking for a relaxing and memorable escape from the cares of the world!

Beautiful property even with hurricane damage

Halifax, Canada

9th visit to Bermuda First to Cambridge Beach Resort. We really enjoyed Cambridge Beaches. At first we thought the distance from Hamilton and in town dining would be a problem but it was very easy to go to the Dockyards and then take the ferry to Hamilton. We didn’t go to the east end of the island this trip as that seemed far on the motor scooters and we were trying to have a very low key holiday. Pros: lovely property although the tennis courts were out of commission. Beaches are private and calm not as spectacular as the south coast beaches but great for a swim. Towels are provided every day and there is no having to Hand them in to get new ones. Very civilized! My husband snorkelled at Turtle Bay beach and was rewarded with lots of turtles and fish close to shore. The breakfast was included with our rate. I like that. Lots of variety and an omelet station but it was exactly the same every day. I would have loved eggs Benedict a couple of times in a week. The staff was outstanding!!! The food at Tamarisk was much better than I fact my best meal of the week was there. Cons: OK I said the location worked out but it might not be perfect for everyone. It is close to the Royal Naval Dockyards but far from St George’s. The taxi to and from the airport is expensive but the hotel does look after getting taxis very well. Our only real complaint was with the bed. It was very firm and the pillows were not great. We did not sleep well. Otherwise I liked our deluxe ocean view room and it had a great bathroom. Two sinks and a large shower. We didn’t have a tub but some rooms do. Bermuda is beautiful and a very comfortable place to holiday. The people of this island are friendly and very helpful. We’ll be back again. May have to rent a Twizy next time!,,
