Amazing holiday

We were told about this hotel from two sets of friends, they all said it was beautiful and they were right.Everything about it is wonderful.We had a room on the top floor facing the sea (312) i think, and it was the best view we have ever had.The umi and sizzle restaurants are lovely and even for the non adventurous food folk like me its great.We would happily go back and do it all again.Petal makes the best omlettes ever,and i came back and had a go myself.My husband says thanks Petal.All in all a great holiday.

We had one of our best holidays in the Caribbean at Sugar Bay just recently. The hotel is excellent in every way but especially the service from every single member of staff from the cleaners to the Managing Director. nothing was too much trouble for anyone. One morning I woke up with a sore throat and happened to mention it to the staff member waiting our breakfast table. She immediately went to the kitchen and came back with a with a glass of hot water honey and lime. A nice little touch that didn't go unnoticed. This kind of service wasn't the exception but the rule.

Just returned from spending 2 weeks here.
The resort is fabulous, great location on the beach, the quality of the rooms, food and service is outstanding.
The staff make you feel very special and welcome from the moment you arrive.
There are 4 places to eat - all excellent and great choice.
Beach location is just lovely - having breakfast overlooking the Caribbean Sea is sublime. What could be better.
Evening entertainment is good and varied.
Can thoroughly recommend.

Had a lovely holiday at the sugar Bay resort. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were so friendly. A special shout out to Derek behind the bar who kept our glasses topped up. We stayed in an ocean front room with a gorgeous view. Food was lovely with plenty of choice and the beach was fab. Very safe to walk around Barbados and the preople are so friendly. Looking at returning next year and can recommend this hotel as our first choice. Keep up the good work Sugar Bay.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff

Arrived late afternoon to a very warm welcome. Booked in by crystal who was really friendly and informative about the hotel and it’s facilities. We had a family room with a beautiful view of the sea. Decoration was a little tired but not a problem. We had a large living room with 2 sofas one of which was a sofa bed. Sugar bay you do seriously need to look at replacing these as other families that we spoke to had the same issue we did in terms on the sofa bed having past it’s best. It sagged so badly the even with the extra quilt that the lady from house keeping added for extra comfort it was not good. We were promised a rollaway bed but it never materialised.
The main bedroom though did have a large comfy bed. Nice toiletries and clean towels etc every day.
Food was generally good however given it was school holiday time and quite a few kids were there, the reef restaurant did not offer any kids options. Sugar bay you do need to think about this especially at school holiday time. Other two speciality restaurants were good and had we been allowed to use more than once during our week stay we would have done. Great cocktails at the bar and some evening entertainment which was not our cup of tea but still nice in the evening. Afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes etc was also a nice touch.
All in all we had a great week at Sugar Bay and would consider returning but with a few simple changes this hotel could push itself up a notch.
