Best holiday ever

Farnham, United Kingdom

We were 4 adults and 2 teenagers. A seamless check in with very efficient and friendly reception. We had booked deluxe signature rooms but on arrival found we had been upgraded to family suites 401 and 402. Both suites were so spacious and well equipped. Beds comfortable, loads of storage and cleaned immaculately each day and efficient air con. We ate most of our meals on the terrace at the Reef restaurant. The buffet was excellent with just the right amount of choice. The quality was extremely high and the service excellent. Choice of wine and quality was best I have ever been offered in an all inclusive. Our boys chose to eat in Colin’s at lunchtimes and thoroughly enjoyed it. We ate in each of Sizzle and Umi which were both great. The beach was stunning. A light pair of swim shoes meant the few rocks were no issue and there was no seaweed issue at all while we were there. Such a treat to have waiter service on the beach and to be helped with beds and umbrellas. Everyone so friendly and helpful. Delicious range of cocktails all served with a smile. The evening entertainment was good with Virgo being the highlight. We went every evening to The lazy mongoose which is amazingly underused. As our teens were 15 we had to take our drinks across to the games room where we played pool every evening. One small improvement could be to get rid of the air hockey table which I don’t think has been working for years and put another pool table. Activities on the beach were a bit low key so we made our own fun but on our penultimate day Romain returned from his annual leave and we wished he had been there throughout our stay as he really got activities going with the teens. We hired a 6 seater car through the hotel and had a brilliant day exploring the island. Racing day at the Garrison was brilliant fun and we also went on the lunch cruise with Calabaza to swim with turtles which we would highly recommend. The Bajan people are justifiably proud of their Island and interact in such a friendly way both in and out of resort. Too many brilliant staff to name but Kay and Darian and Romain stood out. We felt no pressure to tip but often did so as we felt it was so deserved. In summary we would not consider staying anywhere else in Barbados now and cannot wait to return. Thank you all so much at Sugar Bay..we miss you!

Fantastic Trip - Beautiful Barbados

Bayside, New York

Sugar Bay was awesome. Its a small all inclusive resort. The entire staff was so nice from arrival to departure. Shanique at the front desk, was a sweetheart. Tamika, the hotel hostess is so accommodating & friendly. Andrea, who made our breakfast every morning-so funny !! The bartending staff mixes some mean drinks. Our room was oceanfront, which was very clean & cleaned daily. The property is beautiful & very well kept. The beach area has plenty of seating available with loungers & hammocks & small tables to hold your drinks. The beach staff, brings you an umbrella when you want it & need it from the strong sun. The beach itself is clean. There is lots to do on the beach, paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking. The food is really good with lots of variety for all meals. The entertainment in the evenings was really great. Cheryl,(I forgot her last name) a world renowned limbo dancer came one night, what she can do with her body - is only to see to believe. Only one gripe, that I would personally have is that I am a smoker and smoking is not allowed - at all - in on your terrace or balcony and smokers have a little bit of a hard time finding a area where you can smoke. I would highly recommend this resort to everyone. The hotel offers shuttles to Bridgetown daily. We even took a shuttle to Oistins for the Friday night fish fry...which was absolutely amazing..so much fun, like a giant carnival or fair.. just people eating, drinking and dancing, a real experience.
