Delivered All Expectations!

United Kingdom

As a first time visitor to Barbados (and the Caribbean) I obviously had certain expectations based on what I had seen and heard, sun, sea (blue) and sand (white), I wasn’t disappointed and the Sea Breeze hotel did not disappoint either! We had a luxury ocean view junior suite, these rooms are virtually brand new with a queen size bed and a fold out bed for the kids. The room was spacious, modern, clean and the decor perfectly matched the surroundings, laid back, relaxing with an ocean overview. There was a wooden floor, much easier to keep clean than carpets, a decent size balcony which directly overlooked the beach and gave fantastic views out to sea. The bathroom was huge with a walk in shower, very modern, there was a 55” wall mounted TV in the main room and the room was tidied and cleaned to a high standard on a daily basis. We also had a mini bar consisting of local beers, branded spirits and water/soft drinks. Whatever was consumed was replaced exactly the following day, a nice bonus and something I was not aware of when booking the room! There are a couple of a la carte restaurants as well as a buffet style one at the Sea Breeze, you have to ensure you have a reservation for whichever one you choose, usually done at breakfast. We found the food to be excellent whichever option we choose, really good quality with lots of choice, the buffet is relatively small and could get quite busy at times with some of the dishes running out quite quickly. To the hotels credit if a dish did run out then it was not long before it was replaced so despite the limitations on the size of the buffet area the hotel did a great job ensuring there was always adequate food to cater for everyone. I really cannot speak highly enough of the food, in the two weeks we stayed I did not have a single bad meal and there was always something new to try. As it is an all inclusive hotel then drinks our obviously offered with your meals, unlike other all inclusive resorts I noticed the wine options were branded wines around the £8/£10 mark and were poured from the bottle, a small point but I thought it it added to the ‘quality’ aspect of the hotel. The staff would also make up a non alcoholic cocktail for the kids at lunch or dinner which they loved and I thought this was a nice touch as well. Obviously one of the main benefits of this hotel (clue is in its name) is its proximity to the sea. Walking out of the main restaurant you literally walk on to the beach which is a huge stretch of white sand book marked by an outcrop of boulders at either end so it is exclusively for hotel guests, the sea is deep blue, warm (excellent for snorkelling) and there are plenty of fish to see. I suppose you have these expectations if you have never visited the Caribbean before of white sand, warm blue sea and sunshine and it was exactly that, I have never spent so much time in the sea on any holiday before, it was fantastic. There are loads of activities that the hotel provide to help you further enjoy your time from beach cricket for the kids (and adults!) kayak hire, rides on jet skis etc. We never tired of being in and around the water or on the beach. If sea and sand are not to your liking then the hotel also has a few swimming pools, one of them an adults only one. The sun beds around the main pool would be ‘reserved’ quite quickly of a morning and it would not be uncommon for there to be none left by around 9am so something to bear in mind, the main pool also could get a little crowded at times as it is not the biggest swimming pool you will ever see, thankfully there is a third pool a little bit more suited if you wanted to swim lengths but again this was not always possible due to how many people where using it. We found all the staff at the Sea Breeze extremely helpful and polite and they where more than prepared to share their knowledge of the island with you and would help with advice if you where planning any trips away from the hotel, it is not a huge hotel which I really liked so there was almost a family feel to how it was run and I got the sense the staff where proud of what they delivered. All in all an excellent stay, the two weeks flew by and I will definitely be looking to return at some point.

Relax, Relax, Relax.

A superb resort in a good location with great food. It is the ideal place to relax and chill out. the accommodation was excellent. We stayed in a beach front junior suite which had a large balcony where we could sit, away from the direct sunlight, and watch the world go by.
