lovely hotel just be careful of certain staff

Visited the hotel on a couple of occasions for 2 weeks. Had a fantastic holiday, the hotel was very clean and the food and drinks were excellent.The beach was absolutely beautiful with golden sand and there is a nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds for all.The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly one in particular Kenny from the watersports/Beach, he went out of his way to ensure my friend and I had a wonderful experience in Barbados even went as far as showing us Oisten on a Friday night which is a must see. At the end of this 2 week holiday, we found out that he had an ulterior motive he was very keen to come stay at my home and was constantly asking for money. He is very charming and manipulative but he is taking advantage of any young tourist that he can prey on .

Ruined our wedding trip
In short: money stolen (and reputation for it), police interrogated, messed up wedding paperwork, mean staff.
We went to Seabreeze to have our wedding and honeymoon and we really tried to make the best of it - but it was terrible by the end.
So, we eloped - and the ceremony/dinner was beautiful. But we waited at the ministry for 2+ hours because the priest forgot to sign something and then they lost our papers 3 times throughout the 8 day stay - we weren’t sure we’d even be married until the last day!
We were the only Americans and the staff was so mean. We actually separated the drinks we wanted to different bars so people weren’t as nasty to us. My new husband was turned away from dinner because of the dress code (that we didn’t know about) and they held our laundry for longer than they said they would. (Laundry for 6 underwear, 2 shirts, 1 pants was $70!)
Additionally - we had MONEY STOLEN FROM OUR SAFE. (>$1000) We told a floor manager and they had us report it to the police - we waited for a few hours, police never came so we left to go on our excursion (hours late) and that night we were stopped at dinner to meet with the officer who came by. The next day (our last day), the general manager (Mr. Best) bragged about being former police when we asked for some sort of credit for all the trouble - and then suddenly another senior police officer showed up and came and TOOK US TO THE POLICE STATION. 6 officers interrogated my husband accusing him of making a false report and trying to ruin the tourism in Barbados. The original officer told us that SeaBreeze and Sandals both get a lot of calls for stolen money from room safes.
I could have kissed the ground when we landed in Miami. Some honeymoon, huh?

Very disappointing....

On first impressions upon arriving, the rooms were lovely, nicely decorated and a good space. However unfortunately it went downhill from there. The first evening, we went to the rum shack for a pre-dinner drink - the shack was open but there was no service whatsoever. We then went to the bar next to reception and waited 10minutes to be served there - not a great start. We then went for dinner at the Mahogany restaurant, and were extremely disappointed. The food on offer was very limited and bland. This did not improve throughout our stay, and as for breakfast, well that was embarrassing. The orange juice was similar to watered down cordial, there were flies everywhere and the "omelette and egg station" seemed to be powered by small gas canisters?! One evening a dessert had run out, so we asked one of the chefs if it was going to be replenished (the food choices usually ran out by 8:30pm). She advised us to wait whilst she checked. So we stood there and waited...and waited. Finally someone else asked us if we needed anything, and when they went to check they confirmed the dish was finished. This was not a problem, however it is very bad service to ask guests to wait to be informed and leave them hanging around? Timothy in particular was not apologetic, which was surprising as I believe he is a level of management? Not exactly 5 star service...
At lunch time in the Flying Fish, the TV was on constantly, with people settling in for the afternoon to watch it whilst some of us were waiting for tables to eat lunch. We had been waiting a while one day, and there were spaces at the bar, however David G behind the bar very sternly told us we could not eat lunch at the bar (again with the great, welcoming service?!). In the evening, the bar area seemed to be soulless, with hardly anyone around, and the place just seemed to be missing a vibe. The drinks were all carefully measured out, even the rum, which I have not experienced before in the Caribbean?!
The housekeeping service was average, and on numerous times we had to call to request missing bath towels.
There were some good points about this resort which I would like to call out. Roger in the restaurant was very attentive and kind, and Ahmal provided great service wherever we saw him. His wine tasting session was one of the most entertaining we have been to! The service around the pool was also very good, thank you to Chesterfield.
I think the final straw was when we booked wake up calls for our 2 rooms on the last day - neither room received the call.
We had high hopes to try another Caribbean resort, especially this one after the recent refurbishments and positive reviews. However we were left extremely disappointed, and as soon as we were home we booked an extended holiday to return to the Verandah Resort in Antigua (highly recommended!).

One not to miss!
First time to Barbados n definitely won’t be. The country is beautiful n although seeming so basic in living conditions for the majority the beauty of the country is without question. Sea Breeze hotel was exactly what it said on the tin. The breeze helped with the 30+ heat when sat on the lingers by the pool reading my book. Either by the family pool or the adult pool. Staff were exceptional. Akili, Sandra, sharon, Tyrone all deserve a mention and the young staff with superb attitudes and pride in their jobs is a model of excellence many people should aspire too.
The hotel has access to two beaches; the eastern one providing a comfortable atmosphere with sun loungers, umbrellas and watersports, while the second is a little more"rugged" whilst still offering comfortable loungers and a drinks service.
Three Swimming Pools
The resort boasts three swimming pools perfect for early morning swims or to cool off in the afternoon under the warm Bajan sunshine. Including a pool for families and adults only, find your perfect spot to enjoy lazy afternoons, with poolside wait service you don't even need to get up to get a drink.
These bright and colourful rooms are located on the ground floor and can be steps away from either the adults-only or family pools. Perfect for couples or families these rooms boast a terrace with views of the gardens and pool.
