Nice resort, but not great

Albuquerque, New Mexico

We spent a week at the Sandals Barbados. Although the resort is nice, we were very disappointed we could not get into the ocean at the resort's beach. Cons: One problem was the inundation of seaweed (which is not always a problem) which made the water a nasty brown. Also, the ocean has a fairly strong current right at this area and there are rocks offshore. Although I am sure people can manage swimming or using the hobie cats at the beach, it would not be easy. (We previously stayed at a Sandals in the Bahamas and the beaches were amazing!) Therefore, in order to do water sports, you have to leave the resort. (Plus, from what I could tell, there was only 1 day offered for free snorkling. I may be wrong - we gave up on the idea of water sports.) We found the staff to not be as friendly as we expected. Some were quite nice, but others seemed to have a bit of an attitude. (We spoke with some other couples who felt the same about staff.) Pros: Kimono's (so good and so much fun!), Chi Fusion restaurants. Nice rooms. Well kept grounds. Although we plan to go back to a Sandals in the future, we will pass on Barbados since we like to be able to access water activities at the resort's beach.

Great Trip

New York

We arrived in Sandals Barbados on May 12,2018. We were taken to our room by the concierge Raymon. Raymon made sure all of our needs were taken care of!!!!! The grounds in both hotels were perfectly maintained. Paul who took care of the grounds always have a big smile and always wished us a good Morning!!! The next morning we went to breakfast at the La Parisienne where We were greeted Nthabiseng with huge smile big Good Morning she lead us to our table where we were greeted by Marquita. I asked Marquita for a virgin Bloody Mary she explained the bar was closed no problem just tomato juice would be fine. A short time later she brought the tomato juice. To my surprise she went and got me a virgin Bloody Mary!!!! She was just great !!! That night we went to soy we were greeted by shakira she made sure we had an excellent dinner and made sure we had a great night. The next morning we went back to the La Parisienne and once again greeted with a huge smile again by Nthabi who bought us to our table where we were greeted by Charlene. Charlene was so personable and friendly by the time we left breakfast she was our friend that’s how wonderful she is. We were lucky enough to get reservations at the La Parisienne that night and as luck would have it both Nthabi and Charlene were there They both made our night unforgettable!!!! The food was excellent and the service out of this world!!!!!! Both Nthabi and Charlene should be publicly praised for the amazing job they both do !!!!!!! Dwayne at lover lane bar made excellent drinks had great conversations and always with a smile !!!! The food at Bombay restaurant was truly authentic and exceptional flavor!!! Pizza at Dino’s for lunch was very good !!!! You really never have to leave the resort for any reason. To the Senior Management at Sandals Barbados and Sandals overall I have traveled extensively throughout my lifetime and the aforementioned team members should be PUBLICLY RECOGNIZED by the upper management team for their hard work and dedication to make your whole experience not good but PERFECT!!!!!! People are quick to make a critical reviews but I felt that these people are truly an amazing part of your team. I will be back to make sure they were publicly acknowledged for the wonderful people they truly are !!!!!
