Disappointed

Sandals Barbados cannot compete with Sandals Antigua. The service at Barbados was almost non-existent. It was not a friendly atmosphere and at times felt we were a bother. We are not demanding guests, but when bartenders ignore the customers and room service morning coffee sometimes didn't even show up, you have a service problem. We were vacationing with two other couples and they experienced the same things. We showed kindness and respect to all employees at Sandals Barbados, but did not feel it in return. We would not return to Barbados! The experience started at the airport, continued to the Club check-in, and through out the entire week. Restaurants, bars and activity desks were the same with only a few employees showing a positive attitude.

First time in Barbados

Indiana

This was our first time in Barbados and second time staying at a Sandal's Resort. We liked this one much better than the Sandal's in Ocho Rios. Everyone, literally everyone was super friendly and happy. I feel it is a little more reserved - could be the British influence but still very fun. We met a lot of interesting people. We walked into St. Lawrence Gap two mornings and it was safe and people were friendly. Definitely do this! The beach is like baby powder. A lot of people saw turtles while swimming. The food was so good at Bombay, the indian restaurant. As a vegetarian I had plenty of choices. Cecil was our waiter and was amazing! We ate at the English pub one evening as well and although my choices were limited there, the food was still good. The steakhouse plus seafood Butch's was very nice. I had a cauliflower steak and omg! It was so delicious! We ate breakfast at the buffet most days and there were always a ton of choices. For lunch we ate at the pizza and grill place by the beach and they had the best fries and veggie burger. Probably the only negative was that we did not have room service in our room. We had a couples deep tissue massage at the spa, definitely worth it. I love the Red Lane Spa products. I even tried to buy them online after our Jamaica trip. The resort is sprawling but everything is close and the design makes sense. There is a bowling alley on the resort! They also have trivia games, ping-pong, cornhole and pool tables. We appreciated the variety of things to do. The entertainment was good. There was a theatrical fire eater and a limbo performer. One night there was a good band.
