Fantastic hotel

Lincoln, United Kingdom

We visited as a family of two couples for two weeks in early July. From initial arrival the service was fantastic. The team is huge compared to the size of the hotel. The bar staff are entertaining, the restaurant team go above and beyond and the maintenance team never seem to stop keeping the hotel in good condition. Admittedly there are things that could be improved, but for the price you pay and the service you get the hotel surpasses all three star expectations. It’s probably not a hotel suitable for children, the pool is on the smaller side, and there is no child menu or entertainment. The entertainment they do have is limited to a singer on a Monday, disco on a Wednesday and a duo on a Saturday, although most times the bar was empty by 10/10.30pm. The food was great. Buffet breakfast, simple lunch offer, afternoon tea and a 3/3/3 evening menu. Although it’s not on the beach a 2 minute walk outside the front door and you are on the golden sands (although if you walk for about 10 mins there are much better beaches). If you are there for race day at the Garrison try and make a visit, I think almost all the guests visited whilst we were staying.

What a place

Newcastle, United Kingdom

The Island Inn is a little gem of a place. It's classed as 3 1/2 star but delivers a 5 star service. Yes we know it's only got a small pool. After all it's only for cooling off in, not like your going to do Olympic time trials. The sea is just around the corner. And what a beach. The food the hotel serves is top end. and the choices changes daily. The staff are as friendly as you can get, in fact they become very good friends. This is the 2nd time we've been here and it just gets better. Infact we have already started to plan to go back in 2021. We would be back next year but for other commitments. If you go and don't like the Island inn hotel, well you just don't get it.
