Beautiful rooms and great beach

Austin, Texas

We stayed at the GIR over the Thanksgiving holiday. This was my husband and I's first time here as our other Exuma trip was not with the needs of family and kids. Our family was two couples and a 9 and 14 year old. The three bedroom was large and spacious for us. It quickly felt like a home because of the two floors, large living and the big kitchen. The furnishings are beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed. The golf cart made getting to the breakfast restaurant, beach and amazing dinner at 23 north super convenient. Dinner was so delicious. Everyone loved everything. We ordered pizza delivered to the room twice. The staff was friendly and helpful. We never saw housekeeping once, but they were there. The spa is very small and typically only has one person doing treatments, so book ahead and I don't advise trying to walk in. The adult club and pool are very relaxing and quiet. The beach is long and beautiful. There are paddle boards, kayaks, life jackets, and snorkel gear to use at the beach. This is a great property and we will likely return even without the fairly.

The Grand Isle is a Grand resort

My daughter and two teen granddaughters spent a week in Exuma, Bahamas at the Grand Isle Resort in October. This was the perfect time to visit this resort since it is “off season”. The resort is beautiful and located in a somewhat private, remote location on the island. We had the beach and pools mostly to ourselves which made it a pleasant experience not to compete with touristy crowds. The villas are appointed with all the amenities needed to have a “home away from home”- well equipped kitchen, bathrooms with toiletries, linens, and daily housekeeping. The on-site restaurant offered a menu with variety enough for each of us to find a satisfying selection (not always easy for teens) and the food was excellent. The staff throughout the resort was helpful, polite, and eager to assist in every way. We loved this resort and will stay here again if we visit the Bahamas. The island of Exuma itself is somewhat rustic and remote but a wonderful place to vacation!
