Rustic charm and island hopping

Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina is located close to the centre of town in Marsh Harbour, where short ferry rides take you to the neighbouring cays, including historic Hope Town and Man-O-War Cay, the boat building capital of the Bahamas.

The oceanfront rooms and residences are vibrant, with native island furnishings and vibrant colours and tropical decor. From the balcony gaze out to the Sea of Abaco and watch passing yachts and fishing boats glide across the shimmering waters.

This laid back resort epitomises Bahamian life, spend the days exploring the islands or out at sea and the evenings relaxing in the cool evening breeze on the water front. For younger guests there is the opportunity to mix with local Bahamian children and learn about island life.

  • Range of land and water activities
  • Unique children's activities
  • Easy links to neighbouring islands

Where do I begin??... Checked in, got my keys, went to my room, inserted keys, got the green light but the door would not open. because my room was so far away and i had a lot of luggage, I called the front desk from my cellphone to ask for assistance. Engineering came and I eventually got inside.Went inside, used the restroom and the toilet bowl was like a rocking chair, so bad that i had to grab the side of the tub not to fall over. Left the restroom to call the front desk again from the room phone only to find out that there was no phone in this room. Left the room to go to the front desk to ask for a switch, and was told the hotel was completely booked and they would see what they can do the following day. went to the pool bar to order food and was completely ignored for about half an hour before I had to ask if I was invisible. Went back to my room only to be locked out again and had to call engineering again to assist. needless to say ..this happened every time I left the room. I came on business and was given a wifi code that never worked, even after engineering was sent to correct it.Thank God it was only a two night trip!... At checkout I was told that I cannot get a receipt because my bill wasn't correct and there was some confusion that needs to be corrected and a corrected bill would be sent to me via email later that day. I am writing this review 3 days later and still have not yet received the bill. I have stayed at this hotel before, but must say that this experience in particular has totally turned me off from this property. A fishing tournament was going on while i was there and it was obvious that only those that were apart of that elite crew got quality service!... SAD!!!

Set realistic expectations

This is NOT a luxury resort. Set your expectations accordingly. The setting is beautiful. Abacos and this area of the Bahamas are extraordinary. The beach is small, but pretty. You are very close to a lot of fun restaurants and bars in town, as well as day-trips to many adventure sights.. The rooms are adequate but when we checked in, there was blood on the mattress and sheets. The staff responded quickly, but it was hard to overcome. The gym is a JOKE, and other amenities are not as advertised. Weights are rusting and the air is full of mold. The pools are VERY small and not at all luxurious. The bars and restaurants offer NOTHING healthy. Everything is fried. We also have a boat in the marina, which is protected and well-staffed. However, the docks are natural wood and are not floating, so be prepared for slivers and a climb to the dock from your boat. There is a grocery store in town- the best we have seen so far in the Bahamas. Enjoy, but just realize you are paying for the location!
