Incredible Honeymoon

Barrie, Canada

This was the perfect location for our honeymoon (3 years overdue)! We can understand why they have so many returns visitors and we have decided this is our go to place for vacations! Room: We stayed in G18 which was private and had a beautiful view of the lagoon. Not all the cottages have a view of the lagoon, so if that is important to you, you can request it. The pool was a perfect temperature and we enjoyed relaxing in the late afternoon listening to the birds chirping. We loved having a separate sitting area from the bedroom. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room was well maintained and cleaned daily. My only negative comment would be that the water pressure was poor. In addition, you had to run the water for 5-10 minutes for it to be warm which is wasteful. We spoke to other patrons who did not have this issue so it could have been specific to the room. Food: The food was incredible. We looked forward to every meal and were never disappointed. Everything is delicious! It is important that you follow the dress code for dinner, we saw people turned away for improper attire. Beach: Unfortunately we had mostly red flag days however still were cautious and went into the water. On yellow or red days you have to be very careful and it is recommended to be a strong swimmer. I was knocked down quite hard by a wave. We were told that in October/November the water is usually quite calm but due to a hurricane out at sea it was causing the waves. Overall Experience: One of the neatest things we noticed was their dedication to the environment. They recycle, do not use plastic cups and use paper straws, this was very impressive and I hope they continue to strive to be environmentally friendly! Take a stop at the turtle sanctuary as well while you are there! The staff make your experience that much more amazing by always greeting you with a smile. Even the other patrons always said good morning! It was nice to see. I would suggest taking out the bikes and going up toward the cell towers (if you are leaving the resort turn right and go up the hill). You get a spectacular view of Galley Bay, the beach and lagoon. You may also see some goats! Other Info: -Wifi worked most places for us. -You do not need a voltage adapter if you are travelling from North America. -Ask the water sports guys to grab you a chair on the beach if you are not in a beach front room. -Explore! - Tipping is not required, but at the end of your stay you can leave a tip if you feel that you received exceptional service

Fabulous location with all accommodation on the beach

Bishops Stortford, United Kingdom

The location definitely makes Galley Bay - you can almost fall out of your room and be on the beach. They also have a great watersports team who are more than happy to take you out on one of their hobby craft boats for either a sightseeing trip around the bay or snorkelling at the wreck or you can use their paddle boards or kayaks - all of which is included. The inclusive package also included dailly yoga with McKenzie which was great. The food in all the restaurants is delicious (Nov is low season so not all the restaurants were open every day so you have to check the schedule and one restaurant, Ismay, is payable). We also loved the run shack for its character. In general, the standard of service was very good although a few times, the staff did seem to be operating on "caribbean time". We had room 6 which is a great location, near to the bars & restaurants and also the watersports. The room was a lovely design but was showing a little wear and tear. When we left, 2 large groups had just arrived for 2 different weddings at the resort and we were glad to be leaving as it did change the dynamics in the resort! Overall, I would definitely recommend the resort.
