Very private and relaxing

Saint Simons Island, Georgia

Total relaxation and recovery. The resort was very quiet. Lazy time by the beach.Lunch by the beach and dinner in the semiformal dining room. It was also nice to have breakfast in bed as our wake up call.

An Exquisite, Well Produced, Relatively Expensive Site

1. This property is defined by the presence of its owners and managers who are omnipresent on the property. They host a weekly reception for guests many of whom are up repeat visitors. This makes for a sense of community and unusual guest care. You don’t find this in most upscale vacation hotels. 2. The restaurants, common space and rooms are exceptionally comfortable. No TVs in rooms but there is a nice Media-Internet room (where I was able to view the college football championships.) 3. There are two beaches (one strong waves, while the other is calm and allows for water sports, swimming and strolling). Twice a day the staff takes guests out to an amazing reef (I see the iridescent sea turtles and tropical fish now), providing equipment for all. Nice touch compared with the my past experiences and hassles with local excursions. 4. The owner also donates significant funds to support the education of village youth and community enhancement projects. I like their values. Most corporate resorts do little for their environs. 5. We hired a driver (Maurice) who gave us an excellent city tour. It’s worth getting out to see more of the local culture and daily life of the proud and beautiful Antiguans. 6. The food was extraordinary. Great chefs prepared wonderful fresh fish daily, premium cocktails and great desserts (Kahlua parfait!) all made magical by the nightly live bands and entertainment. We, too, plan to return. Thank you, Chelle and Rob. Mr. Franklin
