London, United Kingdom

the positives 1. the rooms are spacious and most have pleasing views of the sea 2.the staff are lovely , friendly and helpful .......... great staff make a great experience 3. the yoga /pilates classes on the jetty run by Jackie are a delight 4. Michelle is a wonderful practitioner and leads a fabulous team at the comfortable peaceful spa 5. For the Caribbean the gym is large and cool 6. afternoon tea is a a gracious conceit ............not so great for my "muffin top" but hey we are away on a relaxing break , not boot camp 7.you can get a mean omelette at breakfast 8. we had a gripe but the management , Camilla Sukumaran the general manager in particular , was speedy ,attentive and helpful and ameliorated the outcome ..........she was classy and proactive 9. the hotel is welcoming to children the downsides 1. the hotel had a rowdy group booking , best to check if there has been a group sale first 2. hotel would benefit from a bit more care and attention , this lovely girl of a hotel would appreciate a bit more love and investment 3.the a la carte menu is a tad expensive although we did enjoy our food , not exceptional but pleasant enough bottom line we came home feeling valued , taken care of and relaxed we liked the luxury of space , we liked the view from the room , we loved the people ; we are going back ..............."nuff " said? !

Wonderful - we wish we could have stayed longer .........

Berkshire, United Kingdom

We really loved our week long holiday at Carlisle Bay. Camilla Sukumaran, the general manager, with an eye to detail is kind, thorough and capable; the hotel reflects her style: calm, efficient, comfortable yet understated, absolutely perfect for R&R. The numerous genial staff are courteous and efficient. The beach is raked, call bells on each sun umbrella, cool boxes of iced water and super comfortable sunbeds - what more could you want for a relaxing time. Activities include complementary yoga & pilates on the jetty, kayaks, pedalos, Hobycats to sail + a speed boat, manned by staff, to take you out to the reef to snorkel. The sounds were memorably amazing: at night we were lulled to sleep with the lapping of waves on the seashore, plus the residents of the tropical garden - crickets and tree frogs - consequently we slept incredibly well; in the day masses of little birds, including humming birds, all apparently addicted to sugar, sang their hearts out. The hotel also suits couples with small children - a perfect hotel for all ages. Our only niggle was insufficient fresh fish nevertheless a super week away.
