We love talking holidays and we're here to help. If you'd like our advice on how to create an amazing Alaska holiday, just give our Destination Specialists a call.

Surrounded by mountains and National Parks, the city of Anchorage is your gateway to exploring Alaska. Visit the Native Heritage Centre to see exhibitions on traditional crafts and history from the local indigenous groups where more than 20 languages hold the stories and songs of the Alaska Native people.

An adventures playground; there are 60 glaciers within 50 miles of the city and most are accessible, so you can spend the day exploring Prince William Sound by boat and listen for the cracking and rumbling before ice shears off the face of the glacier and crashes into the water. Grab an ice axe and put on some crampons to go vertical; there are many experienced climbing guides that will be able to help you discover the glaciers up close. Or why not opt for a truly memorable experience and take to the skies? Fly by helicopter or float plane to untouched ice fields or a glacier landing inside Denali National Park where you will find North America's tallest mountain.

There are over 300 miles of wilderness trails right on Anchorage's door step where you can dog sled, go wildlife spotting or simply take a leisurely stroll. The city has a hip bar and restaurant scene where you can enjoy an abundance of fresh-caught seafood and the frontier spirit of Alaska.
