Begin your trip in one of Texas' most cosmopolitan cities; Houston, before travelling along the Gulf Coast to the beautiful shores of Galveston and Corpus Christi. Next up is San Antonio with its rich Tex-Mex heritage and cuisine before heading to former frontier town Abilene where you can learn about life in the ‘Old West’. Get a taste of the cowboy lifestyle in Fort Worth with a visit to the Historic Stockyards. Next up is Texarkana located in the border region between Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. Drive down along the Natchez Trace Parkway and be sure to take a tour of some of the beautiful antebellum homes before reaching the ‘Big Easy’. Vibrant New Orleans is brimming with unique attractions from voodoo tours of the over ground cemeteries to the lively bars along Bourbon Street in the historic French Quarter. Make your way through Louisiana’s Creole and Cajun country as you pass through capital Baton Rouge and the beautiful Creole Nature Trail in Lake Charles before returning to the Lone Star State and your starting point Houston to return your trusty motorhome.

Enjoy a couple of days taking in Houston's sights from the NASA Space Center and Downtown Aquarium to the fantastic shopping and lively honky-tonks.
Houston to Galveston (55 miles)
Pick up your Cruise America motorhome as you start your adventure around Texas and beyond. First stop Galveston Beach is just a short drive away. Visit Moody Gardens and take a walk through the pleasure gardens or simply relax on the beach.
Galveston to Corpus Christi (255 miles)
You will want to stop a lot as you travel along the coast from Galveston to Port Aransas. We suggest you spend a couple of nights relaxing and take the opportunity to visit Corpus Christie and the beaches.
Corpus Christi to San Antonio (145 miles)
Head north as you travel away from the beach to historic San Antonio.Take a stroll along the RiverWalk or visit one of the old missions and be sure to stop by the famous site of the Battle of the Alamo.
San Antonio to Abeline (250 miles)
Continue north to Abilene and learn the 'Old West' at Frontier Texas! On every second Thursday evening of the month, Artwalk is held in downtown Abilene. During Artwalk all the local museums are free, local musicians and performers busk, and several craft sellers and artists set up booths.
Abilene to Fort Worth (155 miles)
Head east to Fort Worth today, be sure to stop by the Stockyards National Historic District to see the cattle drive and step back into the 'old West' or explore the city's thriving microbreweries on the Fort Worth Ale Trail.
Fort Worth to Texarkana (215 miles)
Make time today to make a diversion off the Interstate to stop by South Fork, home of the Ewings from the TV show Dallas before heading to the Texas - Arkansas border and the appropriately named city of Texarkana.
Texarkana to Natchez (270 miles)
Your journey today will take you through four states, from Texas to Arkansas; Arkansas to Louisiana and from Louisiana to Natchez,Mississippi's oldest town. Tour some of the majestic mansion homes or take the short drive out to The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians to learn more about the city's original inhabitants.
Natchez to New Orleans (175 miles)
Cross back over to Louisiana as you head to New Orleans for a couple of nights. Explore the French Quarter, enjoy a Jazz Dinner Cruise upon a paddle steamer or take a stroll through the famous St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 and visit the burial place of the legendary voodoo queen, Marie Laveau.
New Orleans to Baton Rouge (85 miles)
Today you will make your way to Louisiana's State Capital, Baton Rouge. Be sure to stop off along The Great River Road on your way to visit one of the many stunning plantation homes.
Baton Rouge to Lake Charles (130 miles)
Spend one final night in Louisiana before heading back to the Lone Star State with a stop in Lake Charles. Visit the Charpentier Historic District for a glimpse into the past or enjoy the great outdoors as you explore the Creole Nature Trail.
Lake Charles to Houston (145 miles)
After breakfast today head across the border into Texas as you travel to Houston to return your Cruise America motorhome.
