New York is the city that never sleeps. It’s at the heart of the USA’s culture and is the centre of many TV series and films. So much so that it’s become its own character and you’ll find yourself recognising landmarks and a skyline you’ve never seen in real life before.
While in New York be sure to check off its many attractions and landmarks. These include the Empire State Building and its newly renovated observation deck. From here you can take in this incredible city from a different angle. See the Statue of Liberty as she watches over the boats below, or take a walk in Central Park and take in its many different areas.
Art lovers will find plenty for them in New York. Between them, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Guggenheim and the Met have some of the world’s most incredible collections of artwork. Alternatively, simply enjoy exploring neighbourhoods such as Soho, Greenwich or the Upper East Side.
New England tops many people’s bucket lists when it comes to road trips. It’s home to wide open roads which are fringed by the spectacular east coast on one side and the striking National Parks on the other.
Stop off in beautiful coastal towns where you can really soak in the local charm. You’ll find excellent restaurants serving exquisite fresh seafood, including lobster, crab, oysters and much more. You can also take to the sea yourself with a boat trip, which will allow you to admire the coast from a different angle.
If you prefer to explore by foot, there are some beautiful landscapes in the vast New England National Parks. Vermont’s mountains are home to excellent ski slopes in winter which turn into hiking trails in the summer. For a sense of history, Portland offers a lively harbour full of fishing boats. Or visit Boston, which is often called the USA’s most historic city.
