Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia is the gateway to America's South, providing easy access to Nashville and Memphisbut this fascinating city is well worth exploring in its own right. This 1890's theme general store has a great atmosphere and you can fuel up on some delicious southern cooking at the all-day buffet or grab something for the road at the Dixie Cafe.
Tennessee's State Capital is synonymous with country music, this is the home of the Ryman Auditorium, The Grand Ole Opry and Historic RCA Studio B where Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley recorded some of their greatest hits. Head to Downtown's Second Avenue and Broadway district for lively Honky Tonks. The Gulch is the place to visit for foodies and for a uniquely Nashville experience head over to the Bluebird Cafe, it's first come first served on Sundays and Mondays so get there early to avoid disappointment. If you want to get your own pair of cowboy boots Lucchese Boots is legendary, but you'll not be short of other options. Opry Mills is Tennessee's largest outlet and Hayes and Jarvis customers receive a complimentary Savings Passport and welcome gift.
Memphis
Take the I-20 west as you start your journey to the Memphis. As you pass through Alabama on your way to Tennessee, why not stop for lunch in downtown Birmingham and visit some of the city’s important Civil Rights sites? Another popular stop; this time in Mississippi, is Tupelo, famous as the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Spend the afternoon exploring the town where ‘The King’ grew up and stop by the Elvis Birthplace & Museum to learn more about his early years before taking the US 78 to Memphis.
Memphis is the 'Home of the Blues' and 'The Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll' so it will come as no surprise that this city is brimming with attractions. Discover the musical heritage of this lively city at Sun Studio, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music and the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum. Visit the National Civil Rights Museum to learn more about the role Memphis played during this important age in America's history. Stop by the Peabody to see the iconic Duck March. And of course no stay in Memphis would be complete without a visit to Elvis' former home, Graceland.
