Start your Journey
Arrive in New Orleans
Arrive in New Orleans, Louisiana's most important port city, then make your way to your hotel and settle in. This evening, your tour director will share some top tips and ideas for exploring New Orleans at leisure tomorrow.
New Orleans is one of the country’s most unique cities, with lots to explore, and it’s up to you as to how you’d like to spend your day. Find yourself captivated by the local architecture, food and music, which illustrate the city’s fusion of Spanish, French, Caribbean, African and Anglo-Saxon influences.
There are a few optional tours that you can participate in and are payable locally. Why not start your day off with a swamp tour and jazz brunch? Afterwards, you can wander the French Quarter and see its iconic wrought iron balconies and cobblestone streets, or perhaps visit a working plantation. You could also discover the city from the Mississippi River on a traditional Steamboat Jazz Cruise.
New Orleans - Baton Rouge - Natchez
Today, you’ll get to explore Louisiana’s capital city, Baton Rouge, on a guided city tour. Though it’s a smaller city than New Orleans, Baton Rouge offers a lot of southern flair, including a vibrant culture and stunning architecture.
Leaving Baton Rouge, you’ll take to the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, a 444 mile drive that offers endlessly beautiful vistas and a lot of Native American and European history. You’ll arrive at Natchez, the oldest European settlement along the Mississippi River. Visit one of the area’s impressive antebellum houses and learn about the wealth of those that called it home in the 19th century.
Natchez - Mississippi River Valley - Memphis
Leave Natchez behind this morning and enjoy the drive to Memphis. Known as the ‘home of the blues’, Memphis is filled with the sounds of music. Enjoy a guided city tour that will take you to Beale Street, the heart of the city’s music scene, lined with clubs emanating the sweet melodies of blues music. You’ll also get to explore Front Street, which was once known as Cotton Row back when cotton trade formed the backbone of the city’s economy. Later on, as an optional tour that is payable locally, you might like to take a visit to Elvis Presley’s former home, Graceland.
Memphis - Nashville
Today, journey on to Nashville, the ‘country music capital’. Spend the rest of the day settling into the city and discovering its rich musical heritage, from the Ryman Auditorium, once home to the Grand Ole Opry, to the studios near Music Row.
Get to know Nashville better as you enjoy a morning city tour. Discover the city’s famous landmarks and visit some of its recording studios. As you explore, keep a listen out - you may just get to hear the next country music hit. You might choose to dive even deeper into the city’s musical scene by including an optional tour Nashville’s Country Hall of Fame and Studio B, which is payable locally.
This evening, if you’re still up for more entertainment, why not opt to finish off your Nashville experience by enjoying a dinner and a show? This is also an optional experience that is payable locally.
Nashville - Chattanooga - Atlanta
Wave goodbye to the music of Nashville and journey on to see the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo. Visit this iconic train and wander the city’s beautiful downtown and riverfront, before travelling back to Atlanta.
This afternoon is the perfect opportunity to explore more of Atlanta and visit the sites you weren’t able to see at the start of the tour.
Depart from Atlanta
Spend your last morning in the Deep South at your own leisure. With the help of your tour director, prepare for your journey to Atlanta International Airport, or perhaps plan even more sightseeing in this exciting city before you leave.
When the time comes, wave goodbye to this vibrant part of the country and you make your way to the airport to board your plane onwards.
