Start your Journey
Arrive in Halifax
On arrival into Halifax Stanfield International Airport, make your own way to your downtown hotel for the first of two nights. Enjoy a welcome reception on your first night, where you’ll get to meet your fellow travellers and your tour director.
This morning, you’ll head to nearby Peggy’s Cove, a charming fishing village, and enjoy a delicious breakfast. You’ll then hop back on the coach and continue along Nova Scotia’s South Shore until you reach Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and explore this carefully preserved settlement on a walking tour, before visiting the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. You’ll then journey back to Halifax for some rest and relaxation.
Halifax - Charlottetown
You’ll say goodbye to Halifax this morning and see more of this beautiful province as you travel to the Glooscap Heritage Centre and Mi’kmaq Museum. You’ll then cross the impressive Confederation Bridge, the world’s longest continuous multi-span bridge, and find yourself on Prince Edward Island. Here, you’ll get to enjoy a traditional lobster supper before checking into your hotel for the night.
Charlottetown / Prince Edward Island
Spend the morning exploring Charlottetown at your leisure or get to know the city on a complimentary walking tour. As the afternoon begins, you’ll climb aboard the coach once again and see more of the island; you’ll see red cliffs, stunning white beaches, sand dunes and open fields, before ending up in beautiful Prince Edward Island National Park. You’ll then journey on to the Green Gables Heritage Place, the site that inspired author Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables books. This evening, Charlottetown calls us back and, dependent on the theatre’s schedule, you’ll get to enjoy a theatre performance at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Charlottetown - Baddeck
This morning, you’ll board a ferry and head back to Nova Scotia via the Northumberland Strait, before driving to Cape Breton Island. Explore the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck, then head to your hotel for the night, near the Bras d’Or Lake.
Baddeck / Cabot Trail
Today, you’ll get to take on one of the most beautiful drives in North America: the Cabot Trail. Take in the breath-taking scenery of Cape Breton’s northern shore and the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, stopping at stunning look-out spots to gaze out over wondrous vistas of rugged coastline. There will then be the opportunity to see majestic whales in their natural habitat as you join a whale-watching boat tour before heading back to Baddeck for the night.
Baddeck to Halifax
A visit to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site awaits us today. The visit will shine a light on the region’s history as you explore this reconstruction of a major settlement of circa 1744 New France, walking the streets and talking to the guides, who’ll be able to offer even more insight into what life was once like here. You’ll then step back into present day and continue along the shore of Bras d’Or Lake on the way back to the mainland. You’ll spend the last evening together with your group in Halifax, where it all began just a week ago.
