Start your Journey
On arrival at Sydney Airport, you will be met and taken to your hotel.
Enjoy a day at leisure and explore Sydney Harbour. Take a stroll through the Botanical Gardens towards the waterfront and marvel at the instantly recognisable Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. In the afternoon, why not see this amazing harbour from a different point of view by either boarding a seaplane or climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge? In the evening cruise through Sydney Harbour by boat and enjoy a delicious welcome dinner, where you’ll meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers.
Today discover more of Sydney’s sights on a guided tour. For lunch, enjoy some traditional fish ‘n’ chips as you watch surfers catching waves on the world-famous Bondi Beach. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the epic Sydney Opera House, and prepare to be left in awe by this architectural masterpiece and world-renowned theatre.
Sydney to Hamilton Island
After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Hamilton Island. Enjoy a day to explore this island paradise at your pace and in your own way. You might like to spend time snorkelling off the beach, playing a round of golf, or hire a buggy to explore the island.
Spend another day today in paradise, at your own leisure. We highly recommend booking a cruise boat to explore the mesmerising Whitsunday Islands. Witness the pristine white beaches and turquoise seas, which blend to make an awe-inspiring landscape as you cruise from island to island.
Hamilton Island to Port Douglas
Depart from Hamilton Island and fly to Cairns, where you will be taken to your hotel in Port Douglas. Situated where the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef meet, Port Douglas is a stunning tropical town, and is the perfect base for snorkelling or diving, as well as exploring the biodiverse rainforest.
Today you will explore the world’s largest reef system as you dive or snorkel to see colourful coral and an array of tropical sea life. Cruise aboard Quicksilver’s technologically advanced Wavepiercer catamaran. You will have time at the Great Barrier Reef to view the reef either underwater or from a semi-submersible vessel. Enhance your stay with a few special options: you could visit an underwater viewing platform and an observatory to watch the fish feeding, or for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you might like to take a scenic helicopter flight over the reef.
Port Douglas to Cairns
This morning you can spend time at leisure before you are driven to Cairns. This afternoon explore your new surroundings and take a stroll along the Esplanade, and pop into one of the many cafes and bars.
Cairns to Uluru
Wake up early for your flight to Uluru. Look through your plane window and witness the landscape change from palm-fringed beaches of the north to the rugged-red centre. Arrive at the base of Uluru and take time to walk around and witness the diverse plants, geological features, and wildlife of the area. In the afternoon, discover the iconic Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), an extraordinary set of domed rock formations. As the sun starts to set over Uluru, marvel as thousands of lights illuminate the vast expanse in a kaleidoscope of colour.
Uluru to Alice Springs
Rise early this morning to witness a spectacular sunrise over Uluru, and watch as the sandstone monolith changes of colour as the sun descends into the sky. This afternoon you will be transferred to Alice Springs. Arrive at your hotel and the rest of your afternoon is at leisure.
Spend this morning exploring Alice Springs. Discover a variety of museums and art galleries featuring indigenous artwork. We recommend heading to the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of Air. As the sun starts to set enjoy a camel ride alongside the West MacDonnell Ranges, and take in the red-sand desert views around you.
Alice Springs to Melbourne
After breakfast, enjoy time at leisure before you are taken to the airport for your flight to Melbourne. You will arrive into Australia’s ‘cultural capital’ in the late afternoon, where you will be met and taken to check into your hotel.
Enjoy a guided tour of Melbourne experience see the sights and hidden gems of this cosmopolitan city. Spend the afternoon at your own leisure where you can continue exploring. We recommend standing on the outskirts of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the largest cricket stadium in the world, or relax at one of the many quirky cafes and bars.
Spend your last day at your own leisure to either relax and wander, or tick off more of Melbourne’s sights and attractions. You might like to experience fantastic views of Melbourne’s skyline from a cruise boat on the Yarra River, or board the historic Colonial Tramcar Restaurant for a delicious lunch. Shop at the bustling Queen Victoria Market, or take a stroll through the colourful Royal Botanical Gardens. In the evening you can enjoy a farewell drink and dinner, and say goodbye to your APT Tour Director and group.
