Start your Journey
Arrival into Colombo
When you arrive into Bandaranaike International Airport you will be met by you driver in the arrivals hall. Transfer in your private car to Uga Residence and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Relax in your suite and adjust to the time difference, or head straight out for a walk through the nearby Viharamahadevi Park and take in the city around you.
Colombo to Thirappane
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and take the scenic drive to your next stop, Thirappane just outside of Anuradhapura. On arrival choose from a selection of activities:
- Village bike tour
- Nature walk
Following breakfast transfer to Sigiriya.
Climb the 5th century rock citadel of King Kasyapa and World Heritage Site - Sigiriya. Step through the gigantic 'Lion Paws' - overlooking the symmetrical royal gardens below - to comprehend the absolute splendor that once dominated this rock fortress. Surrounded by ramparts & moats the Lion Rock - resembling the mythological 'City of Gods' - is coated by frescoes that relate to Gupta style paintings found in Ajanta caves of India.
Following your climb return to the resort for an afternoon at leisure.
Relax this morning before heading out for a city tour of the ancient capital of Anuradhapura.
The sapphire of its crown is certainly the Sri Maha Bodhi - the sacred Bo sapling extracted from the tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment - standing more than 2200 years in its pride. Stroll through the sacred trails of the venerated city to adore the legacy that interweaves Ruwanweliseya: the gigantic dagoba resting alongside the Basawakkulama Tank, shading the Samadhi Buddha Statue & Isurumuniya Rock Temple that empower the culture, heritage and supremacy of arguably the strongest kingdom in Sri Lankan history.
Polonnaruwa and Passikudah
Check out this morning and en route to the east coast town of Passikudah, stop at Sri Lanka's most awe inspiring archaeological sites, Polonnaruwa.
Walk across the scattered walls of this World Heritage Site, blessed by stupas, resting Buddha statues, irrigation canals and fantastically carved Hindu sculptures.
Continue to Passikudah and enjoy a few days of relaxation.
Enjoy two days of leisure, relax on the beaches of Passikudah or head to the spa to rejuvenate before your next stop.
Trincomalee city tour
Leave Passikudah and head north up the coast to Trincomalee for an easy paced city tour.
Trincomalee, the city which houses one of the best natural deep-water ports in the world, has a legacy that has painted history since royalty throughout colonisation, and all the way to the present with new redevelopment projects for this booming tourist town. Later, head towards the classical-medieval Hindu temple 'Koneswaram' which blazes a sense of Dravidian architecture.
Make the most of you free day. We recommend venturing out to Pigeon Island - housing some of Sri Lanka's best reefs and clearest waters. Or head out on a whale watching excursion to see the huge fins of the blue whales that migrate through these waters.
