Visit the charming town of Turrialba in the central valley to visit the famous volcano before moving onto the town of Dota where you will see an abundance of birds including tocans and hummingbirds. The tour also features Uvita which is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the world. The monkeys will keep you absolutely captivated in the Manuel Antonio national park as you travel through the brackish waters and catch glimpses of Damas Island as you pass beneath natural tree tunnels.

Start your Journey
On arrival our local representative will receive and assist you at the Airport. You will then have a transfer from Juan Santamaría International Airport to your hotel in San José.
After breakfast you will depart to discover the colossus Irazu Volcano. Irazú is situated in the Cordillera Central just a few kilometers from Cartago city, and it is a relatively short and pleasant drive from the Capital city of San Jose.
As you ascend to the volcano, the winding road traverses fertile lands in which all types and forms of vegetation are cultivated, all the while affording you a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valleys. And, at the very top of the summit, on a clear day, one can be privy to an unforgettable bird’s eye view of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
As you descend to the city of Cartago, stop at the Virgin of the Angels Basilica – a famous peregrination site for many believers, some of which travel for days or even weeks on foot, in a pilgrimage of faith, to the site. Next, after visit the Basilica stop at the Lankester Gardens, a University of Costa Rica Center for investigation that protects more than 800 species of orchids, bromeliads and countless species of other plants.
Then, continue to the Valley of Orosi, an area that overflows with unparalleled beauty. You will be able to visit one of the few remaining colonial churches and we will stop to enjoy a tasty typical lunch at one of the local restaurants.
After a charming day, transfer to your hotel in Turrialba, a little town in Cartago with some stunning views of Costa Rica’s rural countryside.
Today you will explore Guayabo Archaeological Monument. Veiled in the shadow of the Turrialba Volcano, like a mythical “lost city” from a storybook, lies a mysterious ancient city that was home to over 10,000 people who seemed to have mysteriously vanished just before the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century. This region, known as Guayabo National Monument, is Costa Rica’s most important archaeological site and it’s only named National Monument.
A guide will walk you through the park while explaining the findings of the excavations and the history of the people that once lived there. Your guide will show you around this ancient area, that is geographically the perfect center-point of all of the Americas. Experience these ancient ruins in Costa Rica that hold a world of mysteries and unanswered questions!

After breakfast at the agreed time, depart to your next destination, the always verdant region of Dota. Sitting along the foothills of the Talamanca Mountain Range, this small town may be lacking in size, but it makes up for it in natural beauty and pristine wilderness.
The rest of the day is at leisure to immerse with natural surroundings and relax at the hotel.
Today enjoy the excellent opportunities that Dota offers for bird watching. More than 170 bird species have been identified in the area so far, including Tanagers, Black Guans, Flycatchers, Hummingbirds, Trogons, Emerald Toucanet and Sparrows, among many others.
This tour can be arranged in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on guides availability and your preferences. If you are a nature enthusiast you will love the dense cloud forests, moss-covered oak trees, tropical plants and extensive network of trails through the region. Due to the diverse ecosystems of the area, you will find plenty of beautiful spots to take great photos.

After breakfast it is time to depart at the agreed time to Uvita, located in the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The South Pacific is one of the wildest and least visited regions in the country. The area is covered in rainforest that extends to some of the most beautiful beaches one could imagine.

Today, discover underwater treasures of the Marino Ballena National Park, reefs of Ballena Island, Tres Hermanas Islets and the Punta Uvita Whale tale. Discover underwater treasures such as, parrotfish, butterfly fish, blue surgeonfish and a great number of starfish at a depth that ranges from 1 to 3 meters. Observe the land formations of Ballena Island and Tres Hermanas Islets and their local inhabitants, the brown booby and green iguana.
*Snorkeling tour at Marino Ballena operates only during Dry season (from December to April). During rainy season tour will be switch to Hiking in Marino Ballena.
Today we will travel to the pristine region of Manuel Antonio, this is a small Oceanside village with plenty of great places to stay tucked into nature. Famous for its national park, this tiny yet bustling town is located off Costa Rica's central Pacific coast. The region is a treasure for biodiversity, attracting nature buffs, eco-travelers and adventure-seekers alike.
The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities and the beach.
Be ready for a fascinating experience today. Gently row along the soft currents under a verdant forest canopy, to explore the wonders of the unique Costa Rican mangrove ecosystem. Kayak through natural canals and keep your eyes wide open to spot a variety of bird species, reptiles, ant eaters and white faced monkeys. Your guide´s knowledge will instruct you through the biodiversity of this habitat, and his trained eye will seek out herons, kingfishers, ospreys and frigate birds. Navigate through the brackish waters and catch glimpses of Damas Island as you pass beneath natural tunnels created by tree growths. Lunch is provided before or after the kayaking adventure, depending on varying tides.
