Arrive in Denver
Arrive in the city of Denver, Colorado's capital, and make your way to your hotel. This evening is the perfect opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers at a meet and greet reception, hosted by your local guide.
Get a good night’s sleep tonight so you can be ready for your first day of exploring.
Denver - Aspen Snowmass
Enjoy a morning tour of the cultural metropolis of Denver. Against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, explore the city’s historic and cultural landmarks and emerging neighbourhoods.
Head to the River North district and tour some of the 45 breweries that call the district home, getting an insight into how they each produce such distinct beers.
This afternoon, you’ll take to the road and journey to Aspen. Gaze out of the window in awe at the stunning views as you pass by jagged cliffs and travel over high-alpine passes.
After spending some time exploring Aspen, you’ll be driven 159 miles to the ski resort of Snowmass, your stop for the night.
Enjoy all the delights this mountainous paradise has to offer. This morning, you can choose to enjoy a leisurely hike through the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, with picturesque peaks and the occasional chance sightings of moose and black bears.
Alternatively, you might choose to enjoy the rush of the whitewater and spectacular views of the mountains unfolding around you as you raft the Upper Roaring Fork.
The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure. Explore Aspen further, or continue enjoying the great outdoors. A little later, you’ll join your group to taste some of Aspen Brewing Company’s delicious beers, from their seasonal brews to their barrel-aged classics.
Aspen Snowmass - Telluride
Take in some of Colorado’s most incredible scenery today as you take to the West Elk Loop. Journey through 200 miles of verdant forests, wilderness preserves, small towns and over the McClure Pass.
After arriving in Telluride, spend a while touring this historic town. Once a Victorian mining town, it’s now a designated National Historic Landmark District, with lots to explore. End your tour at Telluride Brewing Company, one of the world’s highest microbreweries, and enjoy the taste of its smooth beer.
Telluride - Silverton - Durango
Today, you’ll travel to Silverton, another of Colorado’s old mining towns, located 121 miles away. Ready yourself for breathtaking vistas as you travel along the Million Dollar Highway, one of the most scenic drives in the country.
When you reach Silverton, board a steam train and travel along the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Following the path of the Animas River, you’ll pass through wilderness inaccessible by road. Once the train pulls into Durango, the rest of the evening is yours to spend exploring the city at leisure.
Durango - Mesa Verde - Durango
This morning, you’ll take a 112 mile round trip from Durango to Mesa Verde National Park. This is the largest archeological preserve in the country; get an incredible glimpse into history here as you explore caves that were once home to the nomadic indiginous peoples from as early as 7500 BC.
Step back into present day and head back to Durango for the night. When you reach the city, you’ll get to visit one of Colorado’s oldest craft breweries, where water from the San Juan Mountains are used to give the beer its remarkable taste.
Durango - Salida - Colorado Springs
The city of Colorado Springs awaits you today, but first you’ll get to explore Salida. Spend some time drinking in the mountain air of this western style town, and see its selection of breweries, distilleries and wineries.
Leaving Salida behind, you’ll continue on your 300 mile journey, with one more stop to make before you reach Colorado Springs. This time, you’ll visit the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. The highest suspension bridge in the country, it hangs high above the Arkansas River, with the water raging far below.
When you reach Colorado Springs, you’ll get to celebrate your final night on the tour with a beer pairing dinner. Chat and reminisce with your fellow travellers as you tuck into some of Colorado Springs’ incredible cuisine and brews from local beer companies.
Colorado Springs - Cripple Creek - Denver
After leaving Colorado Springs this morning, you’ll travel to the historic mining town of Cripple Creek, where you’ll find yourself transported back to the Old West. Wander the town’s old brick buildings and get an insight into an 1890s hard rock gold miner as you descend 1,000 feet below the ground and ride the last air powered Tram-Air Locomotive.
Before you leave Cripple Creek, enjoy some lunch and one more mountain brewed beer. After lunch, begin the 159 mile journey back to Denver, where it all started just eight days ago. You’ll be driven to the airport to board your flight onwards, or perhaps you’ll choose to be dropped in downtown Denver to explore some more.
