After lunch at a local restaurant, it’s time to see the unique penguin colony at Boulders Beach and explore Simon’s Town. The naval base dates back more than two centuries and offers plenty to do, including the Simon’s Town Museum and Martello Tower. Stellenbosch has a rich history that can be seen in the different architectural styles of buildings that pleasantly sit alongside one another throughout the town. Find out first-hand why Hermanus is one of the best places in the world to observe whales in the wild, during your epic once-in-a-lifetime whale watching cruise, which leaves from Kleinbaai Harbour. You’ll sail over the waters to the Pearly Beach area, where you can see southern right whales in abundance between July and mid-December. This awe-inspiring experience is not to be missed.

After spending some time watching the whales, your cruise will set sail for Dyer Island, which is home to a large colony of African penguins. Beyond Dyer Island (and past the great white shark-filled waters of ‘Shark Alley’) is the impressive Geyser Rock. Here you’ll see tens of thousands of Cape fur seals who have made Geyser Rock their home.

After this incredible boat trip concludes, you might wish to opt to reflect on the day’s events when tucking into a meal at the Great White House, a thatched-roof restaurant that features locally-produced ingredients, in nearby Gansbaai. Kindly note this meal is on a chargeable basis.
