X Factor Judges’ Houses Revisited

Helen Blundell October 16, 2015

With this year’s X Factor competition well under way, it’s almost time for one of the highlights of the series – the judges’ houses!

We’ve seen the programme's various judges jet off across the globe over the years, travelling to some of the world’s most luxurious and star studded destinations. Here, we take the chance to look back at some of the far flung locations that have played host to the judges and contestants during the show’s history.

1. St James's Club and Villas, Antigua

In 2013, former Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger took her group, The Girls, to the beautiful Caribbean island of Antigua. They stayed in a luxurious villa at the 5* St James’s Club, located close to the historic Nelson’s Dockyard. Boasting two white sand beaches and six swimming pools, plus plenty of watersports and a luxurious spa, this resort offers up everything you’d expect from a Caribbean getaway.

2. Occidental Grand Xcaret, Mexico

In 2014, former Spice Girl, Mel B took The Boys to Mexico. The group stayed at the Occidental Grand Xcaret in Riviera Maya - a firm favourite with Hayes and Jarvis customers thanks to its 11 restaurants, five swimming pools and private white sand beach. Tucked away within walking distance of the eco-archaeological Xcaret Park and Mayan ruins, this resort is a lush, tropical paradise suitable for couples, families and Grammy-award-winning wannabes!

3. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Dubai

In 2012, Nicole Scherzinger took The Boys to Dubai, staying at the beachfront Jumeriah Zabeel Saray. Located on the west side of The Palm (Dubai’s famous manmade island), and overlooking the marina, the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray offers guest a multitude of facilities, including an award-winning spa, ten restaurants and bars, as well as a private beach and a wide range of watersports.

4. The Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda

In 2014, Louis Walsh took The Groups to Bermuda, enlisting the help of former X Factor judge Tulisa in his quest to find the best. They stayed at The Fairmont Southampton resort, located on the south coast of the island. Just a short walk from the famous Horseshoe Beach, the resort boasts a beautiful spa (where the acts discovered their fate) and a Championship Par-3 golf course.

5. Los Angeles

The talent show wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Los Angeles. The home of Hollywood has been a popular choice with the judges on the X Factor, with this stage of the competition visiting the city of angels four times previously. From Simon Cowell’s Hollywood Hills home to Sharon Osbourne’s LA pad, the X Factor contestants have certainly enjoyed the jet set lifestyle. If you can’t call on the residents of Los Angeles to put you up, don’t worry, there are plenty of hotels in which to live out your starry eyed fantasies. Take The Beverly Hilton which oozes retro Hollywood glamour or The Garland, just a stone’s throw from the centre of the action – Universal Studios.
