Start your engines for the 2018 F1 Championship

The start of the new Grand Prix season is upon us and the stage is set for another epic championship. Will Lewis Hamilton retain his crown and push for his fifth world title? Or will Sebastian Vettel steal the limelight? All will be revealed in the coming months. One thing’s for certain, F1 fans will have the pleasure of experiencing the live racing action in some of the best destinations in the world. 

Montreal – 10 June 

If you’re looking for a fantastic Grand Prix to introduce your kids to F1 we couldn’t think of a better place than the Canadian Grand Prix at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit situated in the Parc Jean-Drapeau in stylish Montreal. The Family grandstand offers free admission to children under 15 with activities and events specifically designed for families. At 2.7 miles long this island circuit is the perfect pit stop on any grand tour of Canada.

Next stop: Embark on a road trip from Montreal to Quebec City to explore its fortifications and cobble streets; dine on exquisite French cuisine and go shopping on Rue Saint-Jean.

Austin – 21 October 

Circuit of the Americas

Austin is a unique city renowned for its music, food scene and NASCAR and IndyCar motorsports. Add to this to the Circuit of The Americas, where MotoGP, X Games, and Formula One all have their home. Featuring 20 exhilarating turns, this purpose built undulating race track is located just a few short miles from Downtown. Go shopping on SOCO (South Congress Avenue), then head to Sixth Street and Rainey Street for live entertainment and restaurants that specialise in delicious Texas barbeque cuisine.

Next stop: If horsepower is your thing then drive over to stay at Wildcatter Ranch in beautiful North Texas Hill Country and soak up the cowboy lifestyle from trail-riding to waggon-riding and skeet-shooting.  

Singapore – 16 September

Marina Bay Sands

Surely one of the most photogenic of all grand prix events must be this night time race in Singapore. Few places in this cosmopolitan city have a better view of proceedings than the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, overlooking the circuit with its SkyPark and world-renown infinity pool featuring some of the finest views in South East Asia. The perfect stopover over on route to your next exciting adventure, don’t forget to take a culinary tour of Little India and Chinatown, not to mention the Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Zoo.

Next stop: Continue your journey to the spiritual island of Bali. Stay at a rainforest retreat, or nestle in seclusion on golden beaches with vibrant restaurants and cafes just a short stroll away. 

Abu Dhabi – 25 November

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

As fast moving as the rapid progress of this UAE city is, nothing moves faster in these parts than the F1 cars on the Yas Marina Circuit. The last race on the F1 calendar, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix offers some of the most engaging views from its spectacular grandstands. Yas Island is also home to Ferrari World and what could be more glamorous than a stay at the Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, absorbing its eye-catching LED canopy and exceptional suites and rooms.  

Next stop: Compare one dazzling UAE metropolis with another and visit Dubai to dine at the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
