New York

If there’s one thing you can be certain about when visiting New York City, it’s that you’ll eat - and you’ll eat well. But with so many fantastic food choices all around Manhattan, it’s hard to choose where to eat for each meal. Check out these 5 unique and fun food spots during your holiday in New York City and you won’t be disappointed.

 1.    S’mac
If macaroni and cheese is one of your favourite comfort foods, then a visit to S’mac is a must when visiting New York City. Serving only mac n’ cheese, this food spot takes it up a notch with options like Hamburger, Cajun, and Masala. Its two locations in Murray Hill and the East Village are close enough to Midtown to walk to but far enough to feel like you deserve this treat.

2.    Artichoke Pizza
New York is known for its amazing pizza, but you won’t find one as unique as an artichoke pizza. This pizzeria serves up traditional slices as well as its name-sake specialty, which is topped with spinach, cheesy sauce and of course, artichokes. It tastes much better than it sounds! Locals love this place, and so will you.

*Foodie tip—New Yorkers call a large pizza for 3 - 5 people a “pizza pie”, or just “pie”-- not to be confused with the pie that we’re used to!

3.    Chelsea Market
Chelsea Market is a food-lover’s dream. Step inside and you’ll find artisanal food vendors, high-end restaurants, and specialty shops that will all make your mouth water. The market also frequently hosts both food-related events, such as the NY ChiliFest, which will be held on 26 January this year.

4.    Eataly
Located just steps away from Madison Square Park and the Flatiron building, Eataly is a shrine to all things gastronomically Italian. Walk through the ground floor of the Eataly building and you’ll feel as if you’re in Italy. You can grab a quick homemade gelato if you’re in a hurry or sit down for a glass of Prosecco at the rooftop bar.

5. Shake Shack
If you want to eat the best burger in the New York City, most locals will tell you to head to Shake Shack. Grab a Shack Burger, fries, and the milkshake of your choice and indulge at one of the 6 Manhattan locations. During the summer, the queue can get up to an hour long, so be sure to check out the Shack Cam before heading over to see how long you’ll have to wait to order.
