Full Itinerary
Day 1 - London Heathrow to Colombo
Overnight flight either direct or via the Maldives on Sri Lankan Airlines.
Day 2 - Colombo Area
Upon arrival transfer to and overnight at the Pegasus Reef Hotel, Wattala.
Day 3 - Colombo to Sigiriya
Leave for Sigiriya, visiting Dambulla Rock Temple en route. Overnight at Sigiriya Village (B,D).
Day 4 - Sigiriya
Morning or evening enjoy an Elephant back safari through the forest at Habarana.
In the afternoon visit the island’s medieval capital, Polonnaruwa (B,D).
Day 5 - Sigiriya
In the morning climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the
resort facilities or take an optional excursion to Anuradhapura (paid locally) (B,D).
Day 6 - Sigiriya to Kandy
Depart for Kandy visiting a spice garden en route. Explore Kandy Town and visit the
Temple of the Tooth Relic. Witness a cultural show in the evening. Overnight at Chaaya Citadel Kandy (B,D).
Day 7 - Kandy
This morning visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Later transfer to Peradeniya to visit the Botanical
Gardens. Short drive back to Kandy for overnight at Chaaya Citadel (B,D).
Day 8 - Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Drive into the hill country, visiting a tea plantation and tea factory en route. Afternoon at leisure.
Overnight at St Andrew's Hotel (B,D).
Day 9 - Nuwara Eliya to Beach
Leave the hill country and transfer to the airport for your onwards flight or extend your holiday at
your chosen beach resort (B).
