Full Itinerary

Day 1 - Heathrow / Colombo
Depart on the morning SriLankan Airlines flight (arrives very early the following morning) or on the evening flight (via the Maldives, arriving early afternoon).

Day 2 - Colombo
Upon arrival, transfer to and overnight at the Holiday Inn. (RO)

Day 3 - Colombo / Sigiriya
Leave for Sigiriya, visiting Dambulla Caves en route. Three nights at Sigiriya Village. (B, D)

Day 4 - Sigiriya
This morning, enjoy a two-hour ride on elephant back through the forest at Habarana. In the afternoon, visit the island’s medieval capital, Polonnaruwa. (B, D)

Day 5 - Sigiriya
In the morning climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the resort’s facilities or an optional excursion to Anuradhapura (paid locally). (B, D)

Day 6 - Sigiriya / Kandy
Depart for Kandy, visiting a spice garden and batik factory en route. Afternoon at leisure. Mahaweli Reach Hotel for two nights. (B, D)

Day 7 - Kandy
This morning, visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Later return to Kandy to visit the Botanical Gardens and the Temple of the Tooth and watch a cultural performance. (B, D)

Day 8 - Kandy / Nuawara Eliya
Drive into the hill country, visiting a tea estate en route. Afternoon at leisure. Grand Hotel. (B, D)

Day 9 - Nuawara Eliya Beach / Heathrow
Leave the hill country and transfer to the airport for your flight home, or extend your holiday at your chosen beach resort.
