Full Itinerary

Day 1 – London Heathrow to Kilimanjaro
Overnight Kenya Airways flight from London Heathrow to Kilimanjaro via Nairobi.

Day 2 – Arusha
Arrive in Kilimanjaro and transfer to the Serena Mountain Village Lodge for your overnight stay.

Day 3 – Arusha to Lake Manyara
Morning nature walk around Lake Duluti before lunch then continuing onto the Masai Steppe filled with African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. Onwards to the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara. Overnight in the Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge (B,L,D).

Day 4 – Lake Manyara to the Serengeti
Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park before driving to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the vast plains of the Serengeti. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).

Day 5 – Serengeti
One hour hot-air balloon safaris can be pre-booked from £359 per person, please ask for details. Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. Overnight in the Serengeti Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).

Day 6 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Depart for Ngorongoro, viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping off at Olduvai Gorge en-route. The Gorge is 50km long and in places around 90m deep. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).

Day 7 – Ngorongoro
Descend through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater, for a crater tour. The crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes with fantastic wildlife. Afternoon excursion to a traditional Masai village. Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).

Day 8 – Ngorongoro to Tarangire
Depart Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast and head southeast to Lake Manyara, Mto wa Mbu village and Tarangire beyond. Enjoy game-viewing en-route to the lodge followed by lunch and an afternoon game drive after lunch. Overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge (B,L,D).

Day 9 – Tarangire to Arusha
Morning departure to Arusha by road (B,L). Visit town centre then final transfer to Kilimanjaro for onwards flight.
