Days 1-2 - Washington DC

Arrive in to America's capital city. Spend your two days in this cosmopolitan city exploring the many iconic monuments, government buildings open to the public and the famous Smithsonian Institute.

Overnight accommodation - Capitol Skyline Hotel or similar (RO)

Day 3 - Washington DC to Charlottesville (115 miles)

Travel to the Blue Ridge Parkway, through the Shenandoah National Park and then onto Charlottesville, once home to American statesman Thomas Jefferson.

Overnight accommodation - Comfort Inn Monticello or similar (RO)

Days 4-5 - Charlottesville to Richmond (72 miles)

The Capital of the Confederacy still remains one of the south's most beautiful capitals. Old waterfront warehouses have been converted to trendy restaurants, entertainment areas and shopping boutiques.

Day 6 - Richmond to Williamsburg (54 miles)

Visit the compellingly restored 18th century town of Colonial Williamsburg that has you feeling as though you?re walking the streets of 300 years ago. Stop by Busch Gardens - home of over 50 thrilling rides and attractions.

Overnight accommodation - Springhill Suites Williamsburg or similar (RO)

Days 7-8 - Williamsburg to Virginia Beach (61 miles)

Pass by Jamestown, the first English settlement in the 'New World' before continuing on to Virginia Beach. Sample some of the best seafood around on the world's largest pleasure beach. At night the area comes alive where you can enjoy a few cocktails while you watch the sun go down.

Day 9 - Virginia Beach to Annapolis (239 miles)

Narrow streets with historic homes and buildings, a waterfront great for ship watching and an array of lively cafés and bars and a laid back vibe make Annapolis a fantastic place to relax.

Day 10 - Annapolis to Baltimore (31 miles)

Fantastic restaurants with amazing cuisine, lively Fells Point with its many old bars and pubs, and an outstanding selection of shopping boutiques are a great way to finish a superb Capital Region adventure.
