Day 1 - Beach to Kandy
Pick up from Kalutara, Wadduwa or Negombo. Visit a spice garden and the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, a conservation and educational centre that now has over 80 elephants. Watch the elephants in their bathing time in a nearby river before continuing to Kandy.
Overnight accommodation - Chaaya Citadel Kandy (D)
Day 2 - Kandy
After breakfast visit Kandy town and bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic. Kandy itself is beautifully historic and traditional, a World Heritage Site and the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings. Visit the extensive Peradeniya botanical garden in the afternoon, and witness a cultural show in the evening.

Day 3 - Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast depart for Nuwara Eliya and the lush tea plantations in the hill country. Observe the process of manufacturing tea and decide for yourself if this is the best tea in the world with a cup of Ceylon's finest. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.
Overnight accommodation - Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliya (B,D)
Day 4 - Nuwara Eliya to beach
Transfer from Nuwara Eliya to your chosen beach hotel, via Kitulgala. The Kelani River (where the Oscar winning Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed) flows through Kitulgala, making it a lush and beautiful area. (B)
