Day 1 - Beach to Sigiriya
Pick up from Kalutara, Wadduwa or Negombo and transfer to Dambulla. Visit Dambulla Rock Temple, one of the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples.
Overnight accommodation - Sigiriya Village (D)
Day 2 - Polonnaruwa & Sigiriya
After breakfast transfer to Polonnaruwa, the ruined city of statues, monuments and temples. Return to Sigiriya to climb the 5th Century rock fortress, a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200m from the jungle.
Overnight accommodation - Sigiriya Village (B,D)
Day 3 - Sigiriya to Kandy
Transfer after breakfast to Kandy, visiting a spice garden on the way. Visit historic Kandy town and bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic. This evening enjoy a cultural show.
Overnight accommodation - Amaya Hills (B,D)
Day 4 - Kandy to Beach
After breakfast visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a conservation and educational centre started in 1975 for orphaned elephants. Afterwards transfer back to your chosen beach hotel. (B)
