Day 1 - Arrive Kigali
Upon arrival in Kigali (from Nairobi direct with Kenya Airways) you will be met and transferred to the Kigali Serena Hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring Kigali including a visit to the moving Genocide Memorial and Franco-Rwandan cultural centre.
Overnight accommodation - Kigali Serena Hotel. B
Day 2 - Kigali to Ruhengeri
After an early breakfast, drive to Ruhengeri (approx. 90 minutes), the main base for gorilla tracking. Upon arrival, there will be a briefing by a Volcanoes National Park guide followed by a trek to find the mountain gorillas that will take until midday, depending on where the Gorillas are currently located. Once you find them all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world. It can rain at a few minutes notice, hence waterproof clothing is a good essential including zip lock bags for cameras and film. After the trek, lunch will be at Gorilla Volcanoes Hotel. If time permits you will visit the markets, villages and local communities or take an optional visit to the little known but compellingly beautiful twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo.

Day 3 - Ruhengeri to Kigali
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy the scenic transfer back to Kigali airport for your return flight to Nairobi. (B)
