The El Tovar first opened it's doors in 1905 and has been delighting guests ever since. Its location might have something to do with it - perched on the edge of the South Rim with breathtaking views is something not available in any other hotel! The property has hosted Theodore Roosevelt and Albert Einstein in the past so you're following in some great footsteps! The cosy lodge atmosphere and renowned dining room make it a great place to stay - when you dine try and grab yourself one of the canyon view tables and follow your meal with a drink in the rustic lounge with great views from the veranda.

About Grand Canyon

No photograph can do the Grand Canyon justice - you'll just have to see this world wonder yourself. 10 miles long and a mile deep, it will take you a day to hike to the bottom, and these surreal rock formations change colour at different times of the day (they are particularly spectacular at sunrise and sunset). Staying in the park itself means you'll have time to experience life in the Canyon - go white-water rafting on the Colorado River, or join up with cowboys for horse-riding and stories around the campfire. If you can't face the hike, take a helicopter ride, and fly over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead along the way.
