Highlights of Pennsylvania

American History

Visit the historic Gettysburg Civil War National Battleground, site of the largest battle ever fought on American soil and the place where President Lincoln gave his famous address in 1863. Philadelphia, the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ and birthplace of America’s modern democracy, is brimming with American history, from the Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, to Constitution Hall, the Declaration of Independence, and the American Constitution.

Amish Country

Enjoy the clip-clop of horse and cart in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, found in the rural countryside of southeast Pennsylvania. Here Amish communities maintain their 300-year-old tradition of simple living, with no electricity, mechanical devices, or modern equipment in a world that has barely changed since the mid-1850s.

Natural Wonders

Leafy Pennsylvania is blessed with true natural beauty. Travel through the Appalachian Mountains along the picturesque Susquehanna River, the longest river on the American East Coast. Walk on the shores of shimmering Lake Erie; hike or ski through the Allegheny National Forest; drink in the breathtaking scenery of the Pocono and Endless Mountains; and explore the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, a 300-metre-deep gorge stretching 50 miles.
