Highlights of Uruguay

Charming Cities

Offering an eclectic mix of colonial, European, and modern influences Montevideo is a city not to be missed. Uruguay's capital city features the historic Ciudad Vieja (Old Town), the tree-lined Plaza Independencia, the fascinating Gaucho Museum, the Carnival Museum, and the appealing beach suburbs located east of town. Or explore the charming colonial city of Colonia del Sacramento. Uruguay’s oldest city, Colonia is filled with cobbled streets, plazas, and museums. If you want a beachier vibe, head to Punta del Este, Uruguay’s priciest, most glamorous resort. Here you can spend your days relaxing on the pristine sands and your nights partying with the rich and famous at the ultra-chic nightclubs.

Hot Spring

Salto offers many hot springs to rest and rejuvenate your weary muscles. The mineral-rich, hot-spring pools around Salto are touted to cure ailments like sore muscles and arthritis. Located just outside Salto, check out family-friendly Termas del Daymán. For a more tranquil trip, enjoy the remote Termas de Arapey or head to new-age themed Termas de San Nicanor.
